Flyers Vs. Canadiens Game Preview; Lineups, Highlights, Key Players

The Philadelphia Flyers (28-32-12) are on a late March heater, winning 4 of their last 5 games, earning a point in all 5. Carter Hart has been the cornerstone to the Flyers winning streak. Hart had an incredible game against the Red Wings on Saturday, putting up a 29 save shutout. The Flyers have suddenly recalled goaltender Sam Ersson from the Phantoms. Carter Hart is day to day with a lower body injury.

The Flyers have moved up to 26th in the league standings after winning 4 straight games. The Coyotes, Canadiens and Flyers have been up and down in the standings with each other as of late. As the Habs and Flyers are within 4 points of each other.

After a fun Flyers Wives Carnival on Sunday the Flyers look to the Montreal Canadiens (29-38-6) who are also a team in the conversation for Connor Bedard or a strong draft pick. If the Flyers win tonight they can reach 70 points, which would bring them very close to climbing even higher in the standings. With tonight’s win and a win on Thursday it could bring the Flyers to as high as 23rd, but the other teams would have to stay where they are.

On Sunday the Flyers sent Tyson Foerster and Egor Zamula back down to the Phantoms, which will move the lineups around. Meaning Tanner Laczynski might see some ice time unless the Tortorella has another plan in mind. Which it looks like he does, as he will be running with 11 forwards and 7 defenceman.

Key Players:

Philadelphia Flyers – Joel Farabee who has struggled this season has found his game again, it is great to have Farabee back in this conversation even if it is late in the season. It is great for his confidence, Joel has 7 points in his last 5 games. On Saturday against the Red Wings it was the first game Farabee hadn’t score since March 14, but he has had at least a point in every game since.

Montreal Canadiens – Nick Suzuki the Habs young 23-year-old captain has 2 goals and 8 assists in his last 4 games. He is currently have a career year scoring a career high 23 goals and is tied for his career high in points with 61. In 4 season he is very consistent, in 2019-2020 seasons he had 41 points back-to-back and now has 61 points in the last 2 seasons.
