Welcome to my previously new segment called the Weekly Short … where I take one aspect from a previous game played, and I talk about it.
For this week’s topic, I will be looking at the team’s main issue: a lack of offense. Something that the Flyers have lacked this season is a lot of offensive production. At the beginning of the year, the boys were buzzing … it seemed that everyone was lighting the lamp. But now, at 16 games in, the team is struggling to score and put up points.
I’m really not sure what happened to the Flyguys … at the start of the season, Philadelphia was receiving goals from everyone. But now, it seems that the whole team is unable to put the puck in the net. What is the solution to this problem the Flyers are having? Fire AV? Fire Giroux into the sun?
No, I do not think anything that drastic needs to be done to help this team. I think that bringing up Morgan Frost can help; considering that he is liting it up in the AHL, I think that he could benefit from a stint with the big club. Also, when Wade Allison returns, Philadelphia should see more offensive resurgence.
This lack of offense has been a common issue in recent years for the Flyers. Right now, they are too hot and cold. They need to turn to the faucet and keep the water on hot if they want to be a successful club in the Metro.
On another note … I want to hear your thoughts! What do you think the Flyers need to do to generate some offense?
Thank you for reading!
