The Phantoms lost both games this weekend, dropping their record to 13-13-4-1 which is seventh place in the Atlantic and falling behind the pack with 31 points while the sixth place Charlotte Checkers have 35 points.

Alexis Gendron
Gendron celebrated his 20th birthday on Friday, and registered an assist on Saturday. Gendron is still being cycled in and out of the lineup and not particularly getting big minutes when he’s playing, but he’s a speedy sniper who is proving his worth in limited ice time.
Trending Sideways
Ronnie Attard
Attard assisted on the Phantoms’ second goal on Sunday, he also went -4 in two games this weekend. He does have 13 points in his last 17 games, but hasn’t been quite as hot as he was earlier in the month. Despite the ebbs and flows, Attard doesn’t have much more to prove at the AHL level… now it’s just a matter of whether or not he ever sees NHL action with the Flyers.
Emil Andrae
Andrae went pointless in both games this weekend, though did manage to walk away with an even +/- rating despite the team allowing nine goals. He was on a six-game point streak with nine tallies before this weekend, so hopefully it was just a minor hiccup because he’s been on a role throughout the month of December.
Olle Lycksell
Lycksell has played five games with the Phantoms since his return from the Flyers and has just two assists in that time and hasn’t scored a goal since 11/24, a span of 10 games. It’s almost like forcing him to sit in the NHL press box for two week did far more harm than good to Lycksell’s momentum. He was a huge cog in the Phantoms’ machine earlier in the year and they’re struggling now because he’s struggling too.
J.R. Avon
Despite going pointless in his last four games, Avon is still playing above expectations. He, along with Gendron, are being used sparingly but are playing well in their roles. Don’t expect big jumps in TOI this season for either, but they’ve both put their best foot forward in less than idea circumstances.
Adam Ginning
As the team’s resident stay-at-home defenseman, Ginning is one player who is feeling the lack of offensive production particularly hard. On the whole, he hasn’t been nearly as impressive as he was last season, but there aren’t many complaints being pointed in his direction either. He just has to weather the storm and hope the rest of the team can pick up their play soon to alleviate some of his burden.

Samu Tuomaala
Tuomaala has gone pointless in his last four games. The 20-year-old rookie was playing way above expectations for the first few months of the season and it seemed too good to be true… because it was. He is still coming into his own at the AHL during his first season in North America, so some learning curves are expected to happen, and he just so happens to be going through one at a time when the rest of the offense has dried up too.
Felix Sandstrom
Sandstrom took an L on Sunday, it was his second consecutive loss with four goals allowed in each. It’s hard to blame Sandstrom given how poorly the organization treated him for the first six weeks of the season, but he’s now played seven games in December and is turning in widely inconsistent performances. He has a 3.30 GAA and .878 SV% in 10 games played this season.
