This 10th and final regular season edition for the 2023-2024 season covers the period that was in the CHL and BCHL from Saturday March 9th – Sunday March 24th.

- (Mar. 9) The Brandon Wheat Kings were back in action as they travelled to Saskatchewan to face the Swift Current Broncos. Carson Bjarnason got the night off as he backed up Ethan Eskit in this game. In the first period, The Broncos held a 14-5 shots on goal advantage and took a 1-0 lead thanks to a powerplay goal at 16:54. In the second period, Brandon would strike twice in the opening 2:30 to take a 2-1 lead thanks to Jayden Wiens (his 23rd of the season at 1:48) and Matteo Michels (his 17th at 2:26). Swift Current would right the ship and tie the game just over two minutes later and score three straight goals in the period to take a 4-2 lead. In the third period, Caleb Hadland scored his 12th of the season at 8:55 to bring the Wheat Kings within one, but Swift Current scored an insurance marker and an empty-netter to defeat the Brandon Wheat Kings 6-3.
- (Mar. 12) The Brandon Wheat Kings trip to Saskatchewan continued as Carson Bjarnason got the start versus the Saskatoon Blades. In the opening period, the Blades got on the board with a powerplay goal only 1:05 in to lead 1-0. Although the Wheat Kings outshot the Blades 8-7 in the second period, it was Saskatoon that would score the only goals of the period as Egor Sidorov completed his hat-trick and scored his 49th of the season to give Saskatoon a 3-0 lead. In the third period, Saskatoon showed no signs of let up as they outshot the Wheat Kings 17-3 and added an insurance goal to give Austin Elliot a 4-0 shutout victory. Bjarnason took the loss and allowed 4 goals on 36 shots (32 saves).
- (Mar. 16) The Brandon Wheat Kings looked to clinch a playoff spot in front of their home fans as they took on the Prince Albert Raiders with Carson Bjarnason between the pipes. In the opening period, Brandon fell behind 1-0 but responded well with a powerplay goal by Jayden Wiens (his 24th at 12:21) and an even-strength goal from Dominik Petr (his 17th at 15:03) to give the Wheat Kings a 2-1 lead. The Wheat Kings would give Bjarnason some insurance in the second period, as Nolan Flamand scored the only goal of the frame for his 19th of the season at 17:11 to give Brandon a 3-1 lead. In the third period the Raiders would outshoot the Wheat Kings 11-5 and get to within a goal midway through the frame; but Bjarnason would not allow another after that as the Wheat Kings clinched a playoff spot in front of their home fans with a 3-2 win over the Prince Albert Raiders. Bjarnason took the win and allowed 2 goals on 26 shots (24 saves). Bjarnason was named the Third Star of the game.

- (Mar. 21) In their final regular season home game at Westoba Place this season, the Brandon Wheat Kings hosted the Moose Jaw Warriors. Carson Bjarnason would get the start in this game. In the first period, the Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes thanks to goals by Jagger Firkus who brought his total to 58 goals on the season. Brandon would get back to within one thanks to Jayden Wiens 25th of the season at 13:41, but Moose Jaw would add another in the period at 15:14 to lead 3-1. In the second period, Brandon would cut the lead to one once again as Rhett Ravndahl scored his 1st of the season at 10:02 to make it a 3-2 game. In the third period, the Wheat Kings tied the game 3-3 58 seconds in thanks to Rylen Roersma’s 20th goal of the season. Brandon would then take the lead through Luke Shipley’s 9th at 8:45 and Brett Hyland’s 32nd on the powerplay at 18:09 and defeat the Moose Jaw Warriors by a score of 5-3. Bjarnason was credited with the victory and allowed 3 goals on only 23 shots (20 saves).
- (Mar. 22) In their regular season finale, the Brandon Wheat Kings visited the Regina Pats as Ethan Eskit would get the start over Carson Bjarnason. In the opening period neither side would light the lamp and the Wheat Kings enjoyed a 9-5 shots on goal advantage. In the second period, Nolan Flamand would put Brandon up 1-0 with his 20th of the season at 12:42 but Regina would tie the game 1-1 at 12:07l. In the third period the Pats would take a 2-1 lead with a powerplay goal at 12:07, but the Wheat Kings tied the game 15 seconds later as Nicholas Johnson scored his 7th of the season to make it 2-2. Brandon would pull ahead at 14:52 as Joby Baumuller’s 5th of the season on the powerplay ended up being the game winner as the Wheat Kings defeated the Pats 3-2 to close out the regular season.
- ***The Brandon Wheat Kings finished with 73 points which is 6th in the Eastern Conference standings. They will take on the Moose Jaw Warriors in Round 1 of the WHL Playoffs.

- (Mar. 9) The Portland Winterhawks hosted the Wenatchee Wild. In the first period, Hudson Darby would give Portland the 1-0 lead at 11:56 with his 9th goal of the season. The Winterhawks would double their lead 11 seconds later as Carter Sotheran would pick up the puck behind his own net, skat it to the blue line and flip a bounce pass to Tyson Yaremko for his 3rd of the season. Portland would make it 3-0 at 14:11 as James Stefan scored his 45th goal of the season. In The second period Wenatchee would score the only goal of the frame to make it a 3-1 game. The Winterhawks would blow the game open in the third period with four goals starting with another Carter Sotheran outlet pass to get a secondary assist on Josh Davies 35th of the season at 1:28. Gabe Klassen would add a powerplay goal at 8:16 for his 34th of the season to make it 5-1. Sotheran would get his third assist of the game as Josh Zakreski would go end to end for his 20th at 8:56. Marek Alscher would cap the scoring at 18:49 with his 5th of the season as the Portland Winterhawks cruised to a 7-1 win over the Wenatchee Wild. Sotheran finished the game with 3 assists, a +3 rating, and 1 SOG. Sotheran was named the Third Star of the game.

- (Mar. 12) The Portland Winterhawks went on the road as they travelled to Spokane to face the Chiefs. Portland got the opening goal at 3:06 to take a 1-0 lead as Luca Cagnoni scored his 14th of the season and scored his 15th of the season at 16:10 to give the Winterhawks a 2-0 lead. Portland was full value for the lead as they outshot Spokane 19-4 in the opening period. In the second period, Carter Sotheran would pick up a secondary assist on James Stefan’s tip in front for his 46th goal of the season at 5:34. The Chiefs would pull a goal back before the end of the period and would trail Portland 3-1 after forty minutes. In the third period the Chiefs would pull to within one on a shorthanded goal, but it was as close as they would get as the Portland Winterhawks defeated the Spokane Chiefs 3-2. Sotheran finished the game with 1 assist, a +1 rating, and no shots on goal.
- (Mar. 15) The Portland Winterhawks were back home as they took on the Tri-City Americans in their first of three consecutive days with games. The first period was a harbinger of things to come in this game as the Winterhawks peppered 27 shots compared to only 3 for Tri-City on their way to a 4-0 lead. Portland got goals from Jack O’Brien (his 21st at 3:56), Josh Davies (his 35th at 9:38 on the PP), Marek Alscher (his 6th at 15:24), and Nate Danielson (his 22nd at 18:15). The second period saw the Winterhawks maintain their dominance as they outshot the Americans 20-4 and lit the lamp another four times. Diego Buttazzoni and Ryan Miller scored goals 40 seconds apart and Nate Danielson notched his second of the game to make it 7-0. Carter Sotheran would score shorthanded with a wrister from the right circle for his 10th of the season at 17:52 to make it 8-0. Marcus Nguyen and a James Stefan double would propel the Winterhawks in the third period, although Tri-City would spoil the shutout. Still, the Winterhawks absolutely dominated this game and defeated the Tri-City Americans 11-1. Sotheran finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a +4 rating, and 5 SOG.

- (Mar. 16) The Portland Winterhawks travelled to Washington State to face the Wenatchee Wild. In the opening period, Portland made their 11-4 shots advantage count as they took a 1-0 lead from Marcus Nguyen’s 22nd of the season at 4:01. In the second period, both teams found the back of the net as Josh Mori scored his 3rd of the season at 6:50 to give the Winterhawks a 2-0 lead until the Wild responded at 7:45 to make it 2-1. Wenatchee would tie the game 2-2 with a powerplay goal early in the third period, but Luca Cagnon would score his 16th at 7:08 and Nate Danielson would score a powerplay goal at 11:40 to make it 4-2. The Wild would pull back to within one with a powerplay goal of their own, but Nguyen would score his second of the game into an empty net to give Portland a 5-3 win over the Wenatchee Wild. Carter Sotheran finished the game with no points, a -1 rating, and no SOG.
- (Mar. 17) On St. Patrick’s Day, the Portland Winterhawks finished their third game in three nights as they visited the Seattle Thunderbirds. In the first period, Portland outshot Seattle 22-11 as both sides found the back of the net. After the Thunderbirds took a 1-0 lead, Carter Sotheran used a defender as a screen and wristed home his 11th goal of the season at 17:24 to tie the game 1-1. In the second period, Seattle would take a 2-1 lead but Sotheran would score his second goal of the game with a wraparound at 9:55 to tie the game 2-2. Portland would go on to score two powerplay goals through Josh Davies (his 36th at 13:12) and Gabe Klassen (his 35th at 18:12) to take a 4-2 lead. In the third period, Seattle would take advantage of their powerplay opportunities to score twice with the man advantage to tie the game 4-4. Regulation time expired and in overtime, Seattle would complete the comeback as Sawyer Mynio notched the game-winning goal as the Thunderbirds stunned the Winterhawks 5-4. Sotheran finished the game with 2 goals, a +2 rating, and 2 SOG. Sotheran was named the game’s Second Star.

- (Mar. 22) The Portland Winterhawks visited the Tri-City Americans. In the opening period the Americans took the lead but Portland responded with goals by Diego Buttazzoni (his 27th at 15:25) and Marcus Nguyen (his 24th at 18:45) to give the Winterhawks a 2-1 lead. In the second period, the Americans would take a 3-2 lead by scoring two goals in less than a minute including one on the powerplay to head into the final frame. In the third period, Josh Zakreski would tie the game 3-3 with his 21st of the season at 16:21 and would force overtime. In overtime, the Winterhawks could not complete the comeback as Tri-City would get the winner at 2:23 to get a 4-3 victory over the Portland Winterhawks. Carter Sotheran finished the game with no points, a -1 rating, and 1 SOG.
- (Mar. 23) The Portland Winterhawks played their final home game as they hosted the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds. The opening period was all Portland on the scoresheet as the Winterhawks got goals from Diego Buttazzoni (his 28th at 2:03), Tyson Yaremko (his 4th at 6:14), Luca Cagnoni (his 17th at 8:00), Marek Alscher (his 7th at 12:16), and Jack O’Brien (his 22nd at 14:35) to pace Portland to a 5-0 lead. In the second period, Seattle would score at even strength and the powerplay to make it 5-2; but the Winterhawks would get insurance goals from Cagnoni (his second of the game at 14:13) and James Stefan’s 49th at 16:44 to take a 7-2 lead. In the third period the Thunderbirds would score while shorthanded and with the man advantage, but it was not enough as the Winterhawks would defeat the Thunderbirds by a score of 7-4. Carter Sotheran finished the game with no points, a +2 rating, and 1 SOG.
- (Mar. 24) The Portland Winterhawks played their regular season finale on the road as they visited the Seattle Thunderbirds. In the opening period, Diego Buttazzoni scored the opening goal for the third consecutive game as the Winterhawks went up 1-0 with his 29th of the season at 10:49. The Thunderbirds would tie the game 1-1 with an even strength goal at 17:02 of the first, and take a 2-1 lead in the second period. Down 2-1, Carter Sotheran would get an assist on James Stefan’s 50th of the season as he split the defence at 6:04 with a powerplay goal to tie the game 2-2. After going down 3-2 in the third period, Sotheran would get a puck in from the point for his 13th of the season on the powerplay at 11:51 to tie the game 3-3. With the remainder of regulation and overtime unable to determine a winner, Portland’s Kyle Chyzowski scored the only goal of the shootout as the Winterhawks won their final regular season game over the Seattle Thunderbirds in a shootout by a score of 4-3. Sotheran finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, an even rating, and 4 SOG.

- ***The Portland Winterhawks finished the season with 101 points which is 1st place in the U.S. Division and are the 2nd seed in the Western Conference standings. Portland will play the Victoria Royals in the First Round of the WHL Playoffs.

- (Mar. 9) The Saint John Sea Dogs hit the road to take on the Cape Breton Eagles. The game was dominated by the Eagles as they outshot the Sea Dogs 15-4 in the opening period and took a 2-0 lead into the intermission. In the second period Cape Breton would score 4 goals on 13 shots (all even-strength) to open up a 6-0 lead. The game would be called off in the third period with Sea Dogs Head Coach Travis Crickard experiencing a medical emergency with paramedics and emergency service workers involved. The game would be called off and Saint John would take a 6-0 loss to Cape Breton. Matteo Mann finished the game with no points, a -2 rating, and 1 SOG.

- (Mar. 14) The Saint John Sea Dogs returned to action at home as they hosted the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. The opening two periods of this game was a goaltenders duel especially with Saint John’s Patrick Leaver who stopped all 20 shots he faced as the game remained scoreless through two periods. In the third period, Saint John would take a 1-0 lead only 16 seconds into the frame as Pavel Simek scored his 18th of the season. The Sea Dogs would add an empty net goal at 18:47 to take a 2-0 lead through Drew Elliot’s 14th of the season. Leaver’s shutout bid was ruined with 35 seconds remaining, but the Sea Dogs took the victory as they defeated the Titan by a score of 2-1. Matteo Mann finished the game with no points, an even rating, and no SOG.
- (Mar. 16) The Saint John Sea Dogs hit the road and travelled to PEI as they faced the Charlottetown Islanders. In the first period the home team scored two powerplay goals to take a 3-0 lead over the Sea Dogs. In the second period Tyler Peddle would score his 12th of the season at 5:54 to get Saint John on the board, but the Islanders would score 18 seconds later to make it 4-1. Brody Fournier would score his 22nd of the season in the final minute to cut the deficit to 4-2 after forty minutes. That was as close as Saint John would get though as the Islanders scored twice in the final frame and handed the Sea Dogs a 6-2 loss. Matteo Mann finished the game with no points, a -2 rating, 2 SOG, and 2 PIMs.
- (Mar. 17) On St. Patrick’s Day, the Saint John Sea Dogs returned home to face the Charlottetown Islanders in the second half of a home and home set. In the opening period, Saint John would jump out to a 2-0 lead as Nico Laforge scored his 1st goal of the season at 5:02 and Brody Fournier scored his 23rd while shorthanded at 19:18. In the second period, Saint John would get goals from Jacob Beaulieu (his 3rd at 10:37), Drew Elliot (his 15th at 10:48), and Tyler Peddle (his 13th at 14:55) to open up a 5-1 lead through forty minutes. In the third period Charlottetown would score twice to close the gap to 5-3, but Tyler Peddle would score his second of the game to add some insurance and make it 6-3. Matteo Mann would score his 6th of the season on the powerplay as he jumped into the rush and made a nifty dangle at 6:07 to make it 7-3. Charlottetown would add a powerplay goal and Saint John would add an empty-netter as the Sea Dogs defeated the Islanders 8-4. Mann finished the game with 1 goal, a +3 rating, and 1 SOG.

- (Mar. 20) The homestand continued for the Saint John Sea Dogs as they took on the visiting Moncton Wildcats. The Wildcats would take the 1-0 lead only 46 seconds in through Caleb Desnoyers but the Sea Dogs would reply at 1:22 as Coen Miller scored his 9th of the season to tie the game 1-1. The second period would be scoreless with both sides registering 14 shots apiece but failing to break the deadlock. In the third period Brody Fournier looked to have scored the game winner at 18:07 with his 24th of the season but Moncton scored 1:38 later to tie the game 2-2 and force overtime. With overtime unable to declare a winner, the game would go to a shootout. In the shootout, Fournier would score for Saint John but Moncton would score twice as the Sea Dogs fell to the Wildcats 3-2. Matteo Mann finished the game with no points, a +2 rating, no SOG, and 2 PIMs.
- (Mar. 22) The Halifax Mooseheads were the visitors as they took on the Saint John Sea Dogs in the first of two final games at the TD Station. In the opening period, Tyler Peddle would get the Sea Dogs the lead only 36 seconds in with his 15th of the season followed by Eriks Mateiko’s 23rd of the season only 10 seconds later to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Brody Fournier would add his 25th at 13:15 and Peddle would nab his second of the game in the final minute to give Saint John a 4-0 lead. In the second period, the Mooseheads would solve Patrick Leaver with goals on the powerplay and at even-strength to cut the lead to 4-2. In the third period, Drew Elliot would score his 17th of the season in the final minutes to give the Saint John Sea Dogs a 5-2 win over the Halifax Mooseheads. Matteo Mann finished the game with no points, a +2 rating, and 2 SOG.
- (Mar. 23) In their final game of the regular season, the Saint John Sea Dogs returned to action once again against the visiting Halifax Mooseheads. Tyler Peddle would stay hot as he scored his 17th of the season at 13:11 but his goal was bookended by two Halifax goals as the Sea Dogs trailed the Mooseheads 2-1 after twenty minutes. In the second period, all the scoring would be done by the Sea Dogs with goals at 21 seconds and 1:24 in as Drew Elliot scored his 18th of the season and Brody Fournier scored his 26th to put Saint John up 3-2. In the third period the Mooseheads would score four unanswered goals and add an empty-netter to counter Fournier’s second goal of the game as the Mooseheads would prevail over the Sea Dogs 7-4. Matteo Mann finished the game with 1 assist, an even rating, 1 SOG, and 4 PIMs.

- ***The Saint John Sea Dogs snuck into the playoffs with 49 points which is 9th place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Sea Dogs will play the heavily favored Drummondville Voltigeurs in Round One of the QMJHL Playoffs.

- (Mar. 9) The London Knights hosted the Kitchener Rangers at the Budweiser Gardens. There was no scoring in the opening period although London enjoyed a 12-8 shots on goal advantage. In the second period, Jacob Julien scored his 26th of the season at 5:48 to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. After the opening goal, the Flyers prospects took over the game. At 8:07, Oliver Bonk scored his 24th of the season off a spin and shoot play in the slot to give London a 2-0 lead. Denver Barkey would then pick the top corner to score his 32nd of the season at 11:56 to make it a 3-0 game. In the third period Kitchener would score to get on the board, but the Knights would pot an empty-netter as Kaleb Lawrence would score his 16th of the season with both Barkey and Bonk getting assists on the play as the London Knights defeated the Kitchener Rangers 4-1. Bonk finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a +2 rating, and 1 SOG. Barkey ended up with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a +2 rating, 2 SOG, and 2 PIMs. Barkey was named the game’s First Star and Bonk was named the Second Star of the game.

- (Mar. 13) The London Knights were back in action as they visited the Erie Otters. Without Easton Cowan due to an upper body injury, Denver Barkey would set up Jacob Julien in the slot for his 27th of the season at 3:40 to give London a 1-0 lead. Kaleb Lawrence would make it 2-0 with his 17th of the season on the powerplay at 11:19. The second period was scoreless but in the third period the Otters would climb back to within one at 9:21. The Knights though would get powerplay goals (both assisted by Oliver Bonk) through Kaspar Halttunen (his 32nd) and Landon Sim (his 10th) to put London up 4-1. Lawrence would close out the scoring with his second goal of the game as the Knights defeated the Otters by a score of 5-1. Bonk finished the game with 2 assists, an even rating, no SOG, and 2 PIMs. Barkey ended up with 1 assist, a +1 rating, and 5 SOG.

- (Mar. 15) The London Knights retuned home to take on the Soo Greyhounds. In the opening period, Kaspar Halttunen scored twice on the powerplay (his 31st at 1:33 and his 32nd at 8:23) to give the Knights a 2-0 lead. With a 2-1 lead in the second period, Halttunen would complete the hat-trick at 3:04 to reestablish the two goal lead. After the Greyhound’s cut the lead once again, Halttunen scored his fourth goal of the game off a feed from Denver Barkey on the powerplay at 14:04 to make it 4-2. In the third period, the returning Easton Cowan would set up Jacob Julien for his 28th of the season at 1:11 to make it 5-2. The Soo Greyhounds would score at 15:36 but Kaleb Lawrence would score his 19th into the empty net as the London Knights would defeat the Soo Greyhounds 6-3. Oliver Bonk finished the game with no points, a +1 rating, and 2 SOG. Barkey ended up with 2 assists, an even rating, 2 SOG, and 2 PIMs.

- (Mar. 17) On St. Patrick’s Day, the London Knights visited the Windsor Spitfires. The first period saw seven goals scored as London got goals from Max McCue (his 27th on the PP), Jackson Edward (his 7th), Kaleb Lawrence (his 20th), Jacob Julien (his 29th), and Ruslan Gazizov (his 35th on the PP) to take a 5-2 lead. In the second period, Denver Barkey went five-hole for his 33rd goal of the season to make it 6-1 at 1:49. With a 6-3 lead in the third period, Barkey would get an assist on Gazizov’s shorthanded goal (his 36th of the season) in the final minute of the game to give London the win as they defeated the Windsor Spitfires 7-3. Oliver Bonk finished the game with 1 assist, a +1 rating, and 3 SOG. Barkey ended up with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a +1 rating, and 3 SOG.

- (Mar. 22) The London Knights returned home to face the Windsor Spitfires n the second half of their home and home set. In the opening period it was the Spitfires that went ahead 1-0 even though they were outshot 10-7. In the second period, the London Knights scored three goals in the opening five minutes of the period to take a 3-1 lead. With goals by Sam O’Reilly (his 19th at 3:25), Denver Barkey (his 34th at 4:32), and Alec Leonard (his 4th at 5:37) led a dominant period for London as they tripled Windsor’s shots on goal 18-6. Barkey in particular showed exquisite poise and control to roof his goal for the second goal of the evening. In the third period with the score 3-2, Barkey would join the 100 point club by getting an assist on Easton Cowan’s one-timer for his 33rd of the season on the powerplay as the Knights would defeat the Windsor Spitfires by a score of 4-3. Oliver Bonk finished the game with no points, a -1 rating, and 1 SOG. Barkey finished up with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a +1 rating, and 2 SOG. Barkey was named the First Star of the game.

- (Mar. 24) In their final game of the regular season, the London Knights hosted the Guelph Storm. There was no scoring in the opening period with the shots only 6-5 in favor of London. Things would open up a bit in the second period as London would take the 1-0 lead through Denver Barkey’s 35th of the season at 3:17 by stickhandling in tight to the goal and also giving Cowan 36 straight games with a point. The Knights would make it 2-0 at 15:34 with Barkey returning the favor to set up Cowan’s 34th goal of the season. In the third period, London would add an insurance goal through Sam O’Reilly’s 20th of the season and Michael Simpson would get the shutout as the Knights blanked the Storm 3-0. Oliver Bonk finished the game with no points, a +1 rating, and 2 SOG. Barkey ended up with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a +2 rating, and 4 SOG. Barkey was named the Third Star of the game.

- ***The London Knights finished the season with 104 points which is good for 1st in the Western Conference standings. London will play the Flint Firebirds in the First Round of the OHL Playoffs.

- (Mar. 9) The Penticton Vees were back in action as they hosted the Merrick Centennials. In the opening period, the shots indicated a tighter contest with the Vees having a 12-11 advantage but on the scoresheet it was a different story. The Vees took the lead at 5:41 through Anselmo Rego’s 9th of the season. Ryan MacPherson scored his 16th of the season on the powerplay at 16:22 to make it a 2-0 lead. Thomas Pichette would make it 3-0 at 18:43 with his 15th goal of the season. In the second period, the shots were once again close but the only goal of the period went to Merrick as thy cut the deficit to 3-1 with a powerplay goal. The Centennials would cut the lead early in the third to make it 3-2, but the Vees would get some insurance as Conyr Hellyer scored his 12th of the season and Pichette scored his second of the game into an empty net as the Penticton Vees won their sixth straight by defeating the Merrick Centennials 5-2. Ryan MacPherson finished the game with 1 goal.
- (Mar. 15) Winners of six straight, the Penticton Vees were looking to make it seven straight as they visited the West Kelowna Warriors. In the opening period, both sides found the back of the net as the Vees got their goal from Larry Keenan who scored his 5th of the season at 12:24 to tie the game 1-1. In the second period the Warriors would score a powerplay goal to go ahead 2-1, but the Vees would tie the game 2-2 through Connor MacPherson’s 11th of the season at 14:10. The script would repeat in the third period as West Kelowna pulled ahead 3-2 but Penticton tied the game 3-3 with Billy Renfrew’s 18th of the season at 8:20 to force extra time. In overtime, the Vees would emerge victorious as Thomas Pichette scored the winner for his 17th of the season as the Penticton Vees defeated West Kelowna 4-3 in overtime. Ryan MacPherson did not record a point in this game.
- (Mar. 16) The Penticton Vees were looking to keep their winning streak going as they hosted the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. After a scoreless opening period, the Vees dominated the shots on goal in the middle frame 21-8 but fell behind 1-0 at 11:40. The Vees would tie the game 1-1 as Anselmo Rego scored his 10th of the season at 18:44. In the third period, the Bulldogs would go ahead 2-1 only 29 seconds in but the Vees would not be able to tie the game and fell to Alberni Valley 2-1. Ryan MacPherson did not register a point in this game.
- (Mar. 22) After having their winning streak snapped, the Penticton Vees looked to get back to their winning ways as they hosted the Merrick Centennials. In the opening period, the Vees would outshoot the Centennials 13-7 but get goals by Callum Arnott (his 26th at 1:46), Billy Renfrew (his 19th at 11:03), and Thomas Pichette (his 18th at 18:53) as Penticton took a 3-1 lead. In the second period, Larry Keenan would extend the Vees lead to 4-1 with a powerplay goal for his 6th of the season at 10:42. In the final frame, Merrick would get a powerplay goal of their own but the Vees would add an empty net goal by Renfrew for his second of the game as the Penticton Vees defeated the Merrick Centennials 5-2 and outshot their opponents 42-18. Ryan MacPherson did not register a point in this contest but did pick up 2 PIMs for high-sticking in the first period.
- (Mar. 23) The homestand continued for the Penticton Vees as they hosted the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. The opening period was a scoreless one as both goalies did not allow a goal on 17 combined shots. In the second period, the Silverbacks would take a 1-0 lead at 7:33 but the Vees would respond and tie the game 1-1 at 13:48 through Max Heise’s 6th of the season. In the third period, Penticton would outshoot Salmon Arm 16-6 but neither side was able to find a winning goal in the remainder of regulation and overtime. In the shootout, the Silverbacks would score the only goal as Salmon Arm defeated Penticton 2-1 in a shootout. Ryan MacPherson did not register a point in this contest.
- ***The Penticton Vees are currently at 82 points which is good for 2nd in the BCHL overall standings. The Vees are 1st in the Interior Conference and have clinched a postseason berth.
