The 2024-25 season is now well underway and the sample size for what teams are bringing to the table is coming into view. It may still be too early for trades to start breaking around the league, but it’s never too early for fans to start laying the groundwork for idyllic deadline scenarios. So we went through PuckPedia’s PuckGM tool and found our favorite Flyers-themed trades for readers to vote on.
You’re the GM of the Philadelphia Flyers and the proposal below comes across your desk, do you make the trade?
Petey to Philly by SpoShow

What would Vancouver want with the reanimated corpse of Sean Couturier and whatever it is Jamie Drysdale does these days? And why would they trade 100-point forward Elias Pettersson for them? We’re not here to ask questions, we’re here to present the trade.
Pettersson is in year one of an eight-year, $11.6 million aav contract and has 416 points in 417 career games.

If the name of the game is clearing cap space, this is certainly a way to do it.
Alex Iafallo is a depth forward who is a UFA in 2025. Kevin He is a 18-year-old forward that was a 2024 fourth round pick. Zachary Nehring is a 19-year-old forward that was a third round pick in 2023
The Flyers clear $8.1 million in cap for the 2025-26 season (and $6.3 for the remaining six years of Sanheim’s deal) and they get a first and second round pick to do it.

Sam Poulin was a first round pick in 2019. He’s spent most of his career in the AHL thus far where he’s Wilkes-Barre’s top forward.
Valtteri Pusstinen is a 25-year-old forward who has split his professional career between the NHL and AHL
If the Flyers are going to have to dance with the idea of trading Joel Farabee sooner or later, this is an intriguing way to do it. Two decent forward prospects as well as a first round pick in 2025.

Rasmus Kupari is a 24-year-old forward and former first round pick in 2018. He’s mainly served a depth role at the NHL level. He’s a RFA at the end of the 2024-25 season.
Colby Barlow was the 18th overall pick in 2023. He signed his ELC but is still in juniors.
The problem? The Flyers clear clear $5 million, but would have to retain $2.8 million of Couturier’s deal until 2030.

If there’s one thing the Flyers love it’s expensive, broken down leaders and collecting draft picks.
Soon-to-be 32-year-old Gabriel Landeskog hasn’t played a game since the Avalanche’s Cup win in 2022 after undergoing multiple knee surgeries. The team claims their longtime captain is still expected to return at some point.
Landeskog gets paid $7 million a season until 2029.
The Flyers get a first and second round pick, albeit in 2028 and 2027 respectively, for taking the risk on Landeskog’s contract now.
