Zayne Parekh and Michael Misa would each score twice and add four consecutive goals to make it a 6-1 game by the midway point of the third period. Charlie Paquette would score his 15th at 17:33 but it was just a formality as the Guelph Storm dropped a 6-2 decision to the Saginaw Spirit. - (Jan. 24) The Guelph Storm returned home to welcome the visiting Brantford Bulldogs. In the opening period, Jake O’Brien would strike twice to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. The Guelph Storm thought that they had clawed back to within one, but Charlie Paquette’s goal was reviewed and taken off the board to keep Brantford’s 2-0 lead. After the Bulldogs added an insurance goal in the third, Jett Luchanko used the toe-drag to elude a defender and wrist home his 11th goal of the season at 16:01. Brantford would add another though as they dealt the Guelph Storm their third loss in a row by a score of 4-1. Luchanko finished the game with 1 goal, an even rating, 4 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 10/15 on faceoffs. Luchanko was named the Second Star of the game.

In the third period, Guelph would be outshot 19-6 but would improbably get goals from Ryan McGuire (his 6th at 5:39) and Paquette’s hat-trick goal to give Guelph a huge 6-1 win. Luchanko finished the game with 1 assist, a +1 rating, 3 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 8/12 on draws.

The Sting would respond with three straight even strength goals to make it a 3-1 lead before Jett Luchanko would nab his second powerplay assist of the game on Lev Katzin’s 8th of the season to make it 3-2. Guelph would tie the game 3-3 at 14:19 of the second period through Ryan McGuire’s 7th of the season, but Sarnia would score the only goal of the third period and hang on as the Sting defeated the Storm 4-3.
