We’re just over a week away from the NHL trade deadline and the fans are getting a bit restless for their favorite team to pull the trigger on a blockbuster trade. So, while they wait for the real thing to happen, they’ve taken to PuckPedia’s PuckGM tool to craft their ideal scenarios. We went through and picked our favorite Flyers-themed deals for our readers to vote on!
You’re the GM of the Flyers and the proposals below come across your desk, do you make the trade?
Philly’s Deadline by CAH

Simon Nemec, the former second overall pick in 2022 who just turned 21, has spent a bulk of the 2024-25 season in the AHL despite playing 60 NHL games last season. GM Tom Fitzgerald noted that he was demoted to due consistency issues and Nemec has voiced his frustration with the assignment despite the team being focused on his long-term development goals.
A first and second round pick is a steep asking price for in unproven prospect, but if Nemec develops in Philly, a top young right-handed defenseman could very well be worth the risk.

There’s a lot of noise here, but the reality is there’s only two things from the Flyers’ side that are worth much- being Bonk and the 2025 1st, maybe the 2025 second if you want to be picky. Kuzmenko is a pending UFA and unlikely to re-sign in Philly, Wisdom is a pending RFA who probably won’t make the NHL, and the third rounder is deep in crapshoot territory (which they don’t technically own, it was acquired in a separate trade from the author’s proposals.)
The 26-year-old Pettersson has 447 points in 458 career games and seven years left on his contract with a $11.6 million cap hit.
The Flyers have the chance fix their center problem and all it costs them is a prospect who isn’t at the professional level yet and a late first round pick.

This trade seems to indicate that Zegras’ trade value has fallen from grace quite a bit from what it was this time last year. Adding Zegras at a rehab project cost is certainly more enticing that paying through the nose to do so. The soon-to-be 24-year-old has one year left on his contract at a $5.7 million cap hit.

Noah Dobson is one of the more intriguing names to hit the rumor mill ahead of the 2025 trade deadline. The 25-year-old offensive right-handed defenseman is a pending RFA in need of a new (and probably large) contract this summer. But his 215 points in 363 NHL games along with averaging over 24 minutes of ice time for the last two seasons makes him an attractive player for the Flyers.
The Isles add to their collection of aging relics on the roster with the addition of Laughton, and they can keep up their boring two-way gimmick with Noah Cates. They also land one of the Flyers’ 2025 first round picks, whichever pick ends up being the middle of their three selections.

This should be a gimme. The Flyers get a 22-year-old talented right-handed defenseman in exchange for their 30-year-old vet Rasmus Ristolainen. The Flyers retain $1.5 for two more seasons, but considering Clarke still has one year left on his entry-level contract, the monetary side still favors the Flyers.

To be fair, I have no idea why San Jose would do this. Adding a still-expensive elderly Sean Couturier and giving up their 2023 first round pick Quentin Musty for the pleasure of doing so is something that NHL25 would laugh at, let alone offering it to a real sports organization.
But hey, the Flyers ditch (most) of Sean Couturier’s contract and add a top forward prospect for sacrificing their captain.
