You’re the GM of the Flyers and the proposals below come across your desk, do you make the trade?
Risto to Detroit by hockeyfan979626

Ahead of the trade deadline, one of the many rumored teams that have been interested in Scott Laughton is the New Jersey Devils, and one of the biggest trade rumors the Devils produce is 21-year-old former second overall pick RHD Simon Nemec.
The Flyers trade Laughton, one of their first rounders in 2025 and flip Kuzmenko (at 50% retention as the original author suggests) in exchange for a top right-handed defenseman.

if you want foerster this is the cost. by CAH

If you’re unfamiliar with the PuckGM tool, what tends to happen is somebody somewhere on the internet suggests a trade and a bunch of people flock to PuckPedia to make the trade a reality. Well, Foerster to Tampa has been a mainstay for at least the last month of trade proposals, and this one is one of the few that seems favored in the Flyers’ direction.
Mitchell Chaffee is a 27-year-old depth forward primarily playing in the AHL.
Ethan Gauthier (the son of former Flyer Denis Gauthier, and no relation to Cutter) is a 20-year-old forward and second round pick of the Lightning in 2023. He has signed his entry-level contract but is still playing in juniors.
Lightning also throw in two first round picks, one next year and one in 2027, deepening the future asset pool for the 2025-heavy Flyers.

Philip Danault is a 32-year-old center known for his strong two-way play. He has two years left on his contract that pays him $5.5 million a season.
Brandt Clarke is a 22-year-old right-handed defenseman who has one more year left on his entry-level contract.
The Flyers land a real center (albeit not quite the number one scorer they need) and one of the top young defenseman in the league today, in exchange for giving up their own more experienced young defenseman and a scoring winger in Owen Tippett.

Byfield by Vinny82

This feels a bit lopsided at face value, but really, Zamula is just a dude, Kolosov has theoretical upside but has been nothing short of a disaster on all fronts during his rookie season, Foerster has been promising but hasn’t quite made the mark everyone was hoping, and the additional two picks in 2025 are the cost of doing business acquiring a young center because the Flyers can’t figure out how to draft and develop one themselves.
Byfield, the former second overall pick in 2020, is now 22 years old and has 122 points and 238 games of NHL experience to his name. He hasn’t fully broken out yet, but by all accounts plays the game strong, it’s just a matter of whether or not his offense will ever follow suit. He has four years left on his contract at a $6.25 million cap hit.

Unrealistic Offseason v1 by wizardry777

There’s a lot going on here.
The Flyers take on the remaining two years of Philipp Grubauer at $5.9 million, who has recently spent time in the AHL because his play has been rotten in the NHL. But they ditch Fedotov, who has somehow fared worse than Grubauer.
The Flyers also ditch the last five years of Couturier’s contract, cutting $5.3 million a season off the books. But they take on the one remaining season of winger Oilver Bjorkstrand at $5.4 mil, who’s typically good for 20 goals and 50ish points a season.
They also offload Rasmus Ristolainen and Bobby Brink (assumably for the Kraken eating Couturier) which saves the Flyers $6.6 million in cap space.
Shane Wright a 21-year-old center and a former fourth overall pick in 2022. He’s currently playing his first full season in the NHL where he’s scored 37 points in 59 games. He still has two seasons left on his entry-level contract thanks to the slide rule.
The Flyers throw in two future draft picks, a second rounder in 2027 and a first rounder in 2028.
The Flyers save about $4 million in cap space and add a young center, plus get out of most of Sean Couturier’s contract and get a new option in net… even if it is underwhelming.
