Deal or No Deal: Would You Make This Flyers Trade? Vol. 41

The fireworks of the 2025 NHL offseason have mostly come to a close, but some fans aren’t quite done dreaming up last-minute blockbuster trades featuring some players that are still lingering in the rumor mill. So we once again dug though PuckPedia’s PuckGM tool and found more Flyers-themed fan-proposed trades for out readers to vote on!

You’re the GM of the Philadelphia Flyers and the proposals below come across your desk, do you make the trade?

Flyers make the McSplash by Augustus

McTavish is the latest name from the Anaheim Ducks to end up in the rumor mill, and the Flyers could double dip with the Ducks with summer.

They just re-signed Noah Cates to a very reasonable 4×4 contract, but the reality is his ceiling is still likely pretty low. Adding McTavish (22 years old, 140 points in 229 games) gives you a center with much higher upside, plus the Flyers ditch the remaining seven years on Tippett’s $6.2 mil aav contract.

Trade A Core Piece by SabresPlayoffHunter

The Sabres do this fun thing where everyone is seemingly on the trade block, but only a very small percentage of players get moved. With Bowen Byram recently re-signing with the Sabres, the trade chatter goes back to Owen Power, who found his name in the mill earlier this summer.

The former first overall pick in 2021 has 242 NHL games to his name, plus six years left on a contract that pays him $8.35 million a season.

Any more moves? by tacatta

Marco Rossi was one of the more interesting names in the trade mil all summer long, but he still remains unsigned on the Minnesota Wild roster. Rossi is 23 with 101 points in 185 games.

The Flyers mercifully move the remaining five years of Sean Couturier (retaining $1.9 mil to make it happen) and also move veteran depth winger Garnet Hathaway who has two years left on his current contract.

2526Blues by Rick53705

Jordan Kyrou was a name that the Blues dangled this summer in hopes of securing a big trade package for one of their best forwards. He’s 27 years old with 332 points in 416 games including riding a three-consecutive 30-plus goal season streak.

Kyrou is an improvement over Tippett, but the Flyers would have to give up the potential of Tyson Foerster to make the change.

Who says no? by Hammerwise

Shane Wright was the fourth overall pick in the 2022 NHL draft, and only recently made his full-time jump to the Kraken’s main roster. He posted 19 goals and 44 points in 79 games during his full rookie season in 2024-25.

The Flyers give up one mediocre prospect and one who may not sign at all, plus first and third round picks in the 2027 draft to add a young, hopeful pillar at center.
