- (Sept. 27) Matthew Gard and Luke Vlooswyk made their season debuts after returning from Flyers training camp as the Red Deer Rebels hosted the Lethbridge Hurricanes. In the opening period, the Rebels got things going with goals by Ty Coupland (his 1st at 6:03) and Owen Shadrick (his 1st at 12:38) to take a 2-0 lead. The Hurricanes would get a goal back before the end of the period and tied the game 2-2 in the second period despite Red Deer outshooting Lethbridge 23-14. In the third period, the Rebels would take a 3-2 lead at 3:42 through Talon Brigley’s 1st of the season. That goal would end up being the game winner, but Matthew Gard would score his 1st of the season into an empty net at 18:24 to give the Rebels a 4-2 victory over the Hurricanes for their first win of the season. Gard finished the game with 1 goal, a +2 rating, 1 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 10 of 20 on faceoffs. Vlooswyk ended the game with no points, a +2 rating, 5 SOG, and 2 PIMs.
- (Oct. 3) The Red Deer Rebels took to the road in Saskatchewan as they visited the Saskatoon Blades. In the first period, the Rebels outshot the Blades 9-8 and took a 1-0 lead through Ty Coupland’s 2nd goal of the season at 17:38. In the second period, Saskatoon would get back into the game with two powerplay goals to take a 2-1 lead through forty minutes. Saskatoon would strike at even strength early in the third to take a 3-1 lead, but the Rebels would score 52 seconds later through Beckett Hamilton’s 1st of the season at 5:38 to make it 3-2. Luke Vlooswyk picked up his first assist of the season (secondary) on the play. Minutes later though, the Blades would retake the two-goal advantage and hold on to defeat the Red Deer Rebels 4-2. Vlooswyk finished the game with 1 assist, a +1 rating, 1 SOG, and 2 PIMs. Matthew Gard ended the game with no points, an even rating, 2 SOG, and was only 9/21 on faceoffs.

- (Oct. 4) The Red Deer Rebels continued their road trip as they took on the Prince Albert Raiders. The Rebels were slow out of the gate as they were outshot 13-3 in the opening period and found themselves down 2-0. Red Deer would strike 31 seconds into the middle frame as Matthew Gard scored his 2nd of the season with a wrist shot through the legs of a defender to make it 2-1. The Raiders would strike twice including once on the powerplay though to get some insurance to make it 4-1. While the Rebels did outshoot the Raiders 12-7 in the third period, the damage was already done as the Prince Albert Raiders handed Red Deer a 4-1 loss. Gard finished the game with 1 goal, an even rating, 2 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 17/30 on faceoffs. Luke Vlooswyk ended up with no points, an even rating, an 0 SOG.

- (Oct. 7) The Red Deer Rebels returned home to take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Once again, the Rebels came out slow in the opening period and found themselves down 2-0 and were outshot 13-4. In the second period, Matus Lisy scored his 1st of the season at 13:39 to get Red Deer back to 2-1. Lethbridge would restore their two-goal lead though at 7:14 of the third period to make it 3-1, but Ty Coupland’s 3rd of the season at 12:11 made it a 3-2 game. That was as far as Red Deer would get though as the Hurricanes downed the Rebels 3-2 for Red Deer’s third straight loss. Matthew Gard finished the game with no points, a +1 rating, 1 SOG, 4 PIMs, and was 15 of 25 on draws. Luke Vlooswyk ended the game with no points, a -1 rating, and 3 SOG.
- (Oct. 10) The Red Deer Rebels hosted the Moose Jaw Warriors looking to end their three game losing streak. The Rebels started much more positively in this game but found themselves down 1-0 with a shorthanded goal at 6:28. Talon Brigley tied the game 1-1 with his 2nd of the season at 13:43 but the Warriors would strike late to take a 2-1 lead into the break. In the second period, Matthew Gard pounded on a rebound in front to score his 3rd of the season at 1:27 and tie the game 2-2. Moose Jaw would respond with three consecutive goals though to storm back to a 5-2 lead before Jaxon Fuder’s 1st of the season made it 5-3 heading into the third period. In the final frame, Beckett Hamilton wristed home his 2nd of the season at 4:50 to bring the Rebels to within one. The Warrior though would hang on and add an empty-netter to had the Rebels a 6-4 loss and their fourth straight without a win. Gard was ejected from the game with a nasty cross-checking major which is sure to get supplemental discipline and was issued a ten minute misconduct. Gard finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a -1 rating, 3 SOG, 17 PIMs, and was 15/26 on faceoffs. Luke Vlooswyk ended the game with no points, a +2 rating, 1 SOG, and 2 PIMs.

- (Oct. 11) Without the services of Matthew Gard who was served a two-game suspension, the Red Deer Rebels visited the Lethbridge Hurricanes. In the opening period, Samuel Drancak got things started for the Rebels with his 2nd of the season at 9:59 to make it 1-0. In the second period, Landon MacSwain would double Red Deer’s lead at 10:40 with his 1st goal of the season. In the third period, The Rebels would get goals from Talon Brigley (his 3rd at 7:43), Arjun Bawa (his 1st at 11:07), and Noah Milford’s powerplay goal (his 2nd at 17:39) in the final frame and goaltender Chase Wutzke would stop all 19 shots he faced as Red Deer shutout the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-0 and breaking their four game losing streak. Luke Vlooswyk finished the game with no points, a +1 rating, and 2 SOG.
QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League)
Spencer Gill #15 (D) – Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (QMJHL)

- (Oct. 3) Spencer Gill made his debut for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada after leaving Flyers training camp as they hosted the Charlottetown Islanders. In the opening period, the Armada would use special teams to take a 2-0 lead with goals by Justin Carbonneau on the powerplay (his 1st at 2:25) and Xavier Villeneuve shorthanded (his 1st at 13:45) to take a 2-0 lead. In the second period, Gill did not return to the bench and left the game with an upper body injury. Blainville-Boisbriand’s dominance would continue as they scored four goals through Vincent Collard (his 1st at 1:46), Matt Gosselin (his 8th at 3:58), Mateo Norbert (his 2nd at 15:18), and Carbonneau’s second PPG of the game at 17:46 to take a commanding 6-0 lead. Rafael Cloutier’s 4th of the season at 3:32 and Gosselin’s second of the game would give the Armada a crushing 8-0 shutout victory over the Islanders. Armada goaltender Jakub Milota stopped all 26 shots he faced in the game. Gill had a quiet night in only one period of work and finished with no points, a +1 rating, 2 SOG, and 2 PIMs.
- (Oct. 5) The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada continued their homestand as they faced the Gatineau Olympiques. Spencer Gill did not dress in this game due to injury. In the opening period, the Olympiques scored the only game via the powerplay to take a 1-0 lead. In the second period, Ludovic Grenier scored late to tie the game 1-1 with his 3rd of the season at 19:02. Neither side would win the game in regulation despite Gatineau pushing the play, but the Olympiques would win the game 2-1 in overtime thanks to Finn Barton’s game winning goal and the Armada lost their first game of the season.
- (Oct. 9) The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada made their first trip to Newfoundland as they took on the Regiment. Looking to get back in the win column, the Armada offense hit double digits as they scored 10 goals on only 28 shots as they defeated the Regiment 10-4. Spencer Gill did not play due to an upper body injury.
- (Oct. 10) Playing the second half of consecutive dates on the road against the Newfoundland Regiment, the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada were once again without the services of Spencer Gill who is going to be getting an MRI on his upper body injury. The game was much closer than last night, but the Armada skated to a 5-2 victory and swept the series against the Regiment as both sides registered 33 shots apiece.

- (Sept. 21) The Quebec Remparts had their home opener versus the Chicoutimi Sagueneens as they welcomed Nathan Quinn back to the lineup following his participation at Flyers training camp. In the opening period, the Remparts blitzed the opposition with a dominating 19-3 shots advantage and took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals by Eliot Simard (his 1st at 14:53) and Etienne Desjardins (his 1st at 19:44). In the second period, the Sagueneens settled into the game and scored twice by the 7:55 mark to tie the game 2-2. Quebec would retake the 3-2 lead shortly thereafter as Cal Uens registered his 1st goal of the season. In the third period, Chicoutimi would come back with two goals and held on as the Remparts squandered an early advantage as they lost to the Sagueneens 4-3. Quinn finished the game with no points, an even rating, 2 SOG, and was 12 of 23 on faceoffs.
- (Sept. 25) The Quebec Remparts hit the road and travelled north for their first of two consecutive matches against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. The Huskies struck first only 17 seconds in but the Remparts would tie the game 1-1 with Xavier Lebel’s 1st of the season at 18:28. In the second period, Nathan Quinn scored his 1st of the season at 7:09 as he snuck the puck between the pads of Samuel Meloche to make it 2-1. The Huskies would tie the game with a shorthanded goal, but the Remparts would take a 3-2 lead as Antoine Dorion scored his 1st of the season at 15:23. In the third period, Rouyn-Noranda pushed the play and scored three goals in the frame (including an empty-netter) as they defeated the Quebec Remparts 5-3. Quinn finished the game with 1 goal, a -1 rating, 1 SOG, and was a woeful 5/15 on faceoffs.

- (Sept. 26) The Quebec Remparts played their second consecutive game against the host Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. The opening period would end with the score tied 1-1 with both goals coming in the final minute of play. The Remparts goal was scored by Eliot Simard and was his 2nd of the season at 19:28. In the second period, the Huskies dominated the shots on goal 16-3 but Remparts goaltender Benjamin Lelievre stood tall turning aside all shots in the frame. In the third period, Rouyn-Noranda took a 2-1 lead with a powerplay goal at 1:26 tht needed to be confirmed via video review. The Remparts though would respond with a powerplay goal of their own as Nathan Quinn assisted on Andreas Straka’s 1st of the season at 13:12 to tie the game 2-2 with a baseball swing of a goal in front. The game would need overtime to settle things and in the extra period Antoine Dorion’s 2nd of the season would ensure that the Remparts got a split on the road as Quebec defeated Rouyn-Noranda 3-2. Quinn finished the game with 1 assist, an even rating, 3 SOG, and improved to 10/17 at the faceoff circle. Quinn was named the Third Star of the game.

- (Sept. 27) The road trip continued for the Quebec Remparts as they visited Val’d-Or to take on the Foreurs. In the first period, the Foreurs would take the lead at 12:06 but the Remparts would tie the game 1-1 through Alex Desruisseaux’s 1st of the season at 17:33. In the second period, Quebec would get a shorthanded goal at 11:31 with Mavrick Rousseau-Hamel’s 1st of the season to take a 2-1 lead. The Remparts then capitalized on the powerplay to take a 3-1 lead at 18:59 through Ryan Howard’s 1st goal of the season. In the third period, Logan Brennan made it 4-1 at 3:11 with an insurance marker. Val’d-Or would get a goal back via the powerplay at 15:15, but the Remparts would get an empty net goal by Martin Straka (his 2nd at 16:34) to give Quebec a 5-2 victory. Nathan Quinn finished the game with 1 assist, an even rating, 2 SOG, and was 10/23 on draws.
- (Oct. 3) The Quebec Remparts hosted the visiting Rimouski Oceanic. In the opening period, Rimouski would score on the powerplay to take a 1-0 lead at 16:57 but Nathan Quinn would score a powerplay goal of his own with a wrist shot from the faceoff dot for his 2nd of the season at 19:26 to tie the game 1-1. In the second period, the Oceanic would score the only goal of the frame to take a 2-1 lead into the final period. In the third period, the Remparts outshot the Oceanic 9-1 and tied the game 2-2 with a powerplay goal courtesy of Xavier Lebel (his 2nd at 11:58) to help sent the game into overtime. After a scoreless overtime, Eliot Simard scored the only goal of the shootout as Quebec defeated Rimouski 3-2. Quinn finished the game with 1 goal, an even rating, 3 SOG, and was 10 of 14 on faceoffs. Quinn was named the Third Star of the game.

- (Oct. 4) The Quebec Remparts visited the Rimouski Oceanic for the second half of their home and home set. In a wild opening period, Rimouski took a 2-0 lead by the 6:21 mark but the Remparts would get four goals by Nathan Quinn (his 3rd on the PP at 14:20), Nikita Ovcherov (his 2nd on the PP at 17:44), Cal Uens (his 2nd at 17:56), and Nathan Birch (his 1st at 18:52) to take a 4-2 lead. In the second period, Quinn would get a secondary assist with the Remparts on a 5-on-3 powerplay to get Eliot Simard his 3rd of the season at 1:49. Quebec would strike again at 3:09 as Andreas Straka scored his 3rd goal of the season to make it 6-2. Rimouski would score a shorthanded goal before the end of the frame to make it 6-3, but Maddox Dagenais scored his 1st of the season only 28 seconds into the third period to make it 7-3. Quinn would score his second goal of the game at 4:45 after stealing a puck in the neutral zone and scoring on a breakaway to end the scoring and secure an 8-3 victory for the Quebec Remparts. Quinn finished the game with 2 goals and 1 assist for 3 points, a +2 rating, 5 SOG, and was 3 of 7 on faceoffs. Quinn was named the First Star of the game.

- (Oct. 10) The Quebec Remparts returned home to take on the visiting Sherbrooke Phoenix on Cowboy Night at the Centre Videotron. In the opening period, Quebec outshot Sherbrooke 10-5 but found themselves down 1-0 due to a powerplay goal. In the second period, Nathan Quinn picked up a secondary assist on Ryan Howard’s 2nd goal of the season at 1:11; and Alexandre Taillefer scored his 1st of the season at 3:46 to make it a 2-1 game. The Phoenix though would tie the game 2-2 at 9:43 of the second, and take a 3-2 lead only 42 seconds into the third period with a powerplay goal. Quinn would tie the game up 3-3 only 16 seconds later for his 5th of the season with a nice wrist shot in transition. However, the Phoenix would score the winner only a few minutes later as Sherbrooke defeated Quebec 4-3. Quinn finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a +1 rating, 3 SOG, and was 11/20 on draws. Quinn was named the First Star of the game for the second straight contest.

- (Oct. 11) The Quebec Remparts finished their brief homestand as they played the visiting Victoriaville Tigres. There was no scoring in the opening period which saw the Remparts outshoot the Tigres 12-8. In the second period, Quebec would open the scoring through Alex Desruisseaux’s 2nd of the season on the powerplay at 1:03 to take a 1-0 lead. Victoriaville would tie the game 1-1 but Maddox Dagenais’ 2nd of the season at 11:47 would give Quebec a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes. In the third period, the Tigres would score three PP goals to offset Eliot Simard’s PP goal for the Remparts and would add an empty-netter as Victoriaville defeated Quebec 5-3. Nathan Quinn finished the game with no points, an even rating, 2 SOG, and was 10/18 on draws.
OHL (Ontario Hockey League)
Jack Nesbitt #71 (C) – Windsor Spitfires (OHL)

- (Oct. 2) Jack Nesbitt returned to the Windsor Spitfires lineup from Flyers training camp as they hosted the Niagara IceDogs. In the opening period, the Spitfires powerplay was humming as they got goals from Cole Davis (his 5th at 4:00) and Jean-Christoph Lemieux (his 4th at 14:55) to take a 2-0 lead. In the second period, Windsor continued to dominate play as they scored 3 goals on 12 shots though Wyatt Kennedy (his 1st at 8:13), Beksultan Makysh (his 6th at 8:47), and Caden Harvey (his 1st at 18:38) to take a 5-0 lead. In the third period, Ethan Belchetz would tally his 3rd of the season at 9:30 and Joey Costanzo would stop all 9 shots he faced in the contest as the Windsor Spitfires cruised to a 6-0 shutout victory over the Niagara IceDogs. Windsor outshot Niagara by a wide 38-9 margin in this game. Nesbitt was fairly quit in the game and finished with no points, a +2 rating, 0 SOG, and was 8 of 14 on faceoffs.
- (Oct. 4) The Windsor Spitfires took to the road as they took on the Brantford Bulldogs. In the opening period the goals came fast and furious with three tallies in the opening 5 minutes. The Bulldogs opened the scoring only 44 seconds in, but Ethan Belchetz tied the game 1-1 with his 4th goal of the season at 3:00. At 4:19, Belchetz would score his second of the game with Jack Nesbitt getting an assist to give Windsor a 2-1 lead. In the second period, Nesbitt would nab his second assist of the game on a powerplay goal by Liam Greentree (his 1st at 10:03) to make it a 3-1 game. The Bulldogs would not go away though as they would pull to within one later in the second period and would tie the game 3-3 in the third period to force overtime. After a scoreless extra period, the game would be decided in a shootout where Ethan Belchetz would score the only goal to give the Spitfires a 4-3 shootout victory over the Brantford Bulldogs. Nesbitt finished the game with 2 assists, a +2 rating, 3 SOG, and was an impressive 21 of 29 on faceoffs.
- (Oct. 5) The Windsor Spitfires were once again on the road as they visited the Owen Sound Attack. In the first period, the Attack blitzed the Spitfires who had their worst period of the season and jumped out to a 3-0 lead and led in shots on goal 17-6. Jack Nesbitt had a tough period as he was on the ice for all three goals against. In the second period, Owen Sound would lead 4-0 but Liam Greentree would get the Spitfires on the board with his 2nd of the season at 7:35 to make it 4-1. Nesbittwould open his account with a powerplay goal for his 1st of the season at 9:21 to make it 4-2. Greentree would add a shorthanded goal at 16:37 to pull the Spitfires back to a 4-3 deficit heading to the intermission. In the third period, Windsor would not be able to complete the comeback as the Attack would score twice into an empty net late in the frame to hand the Spitfires their first loss of the season 6-3. Nesbitt finished the game with 1 goal, a -4 rating, 2 SOG, 7 PIMs, and struggle on faceoffs going 9/22.
- (Oct. 9) The Windsor Spitfires returned home as they faced the visiting Guelph Storm. In the opening period, the shots were even 6-6 but it was the Storm that would take a 1-0 lead at 2:45. In the second period, Ethan Garden would strike twice in under two minutes (his 3rd at 1:57 and his 4th at 3:54) as the Spitfires regained a 2-1 lead. In the third period, Guelph would tie the game 2-2 at 16:42 and send the game into overtime. In overtime, Jack Nesbitt provide a screen in front of goal and get an assist on Ethan Belchetz’s game-winner (his 6th at 1:23) as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Guelph Storm 3-2. Nesbitt finished the game with 1 assist, a +1 rating, 1 SOG, and was 7 of 17 on faceoffs.

- (Oct. 11) The Windsor Spitfires travelled north as they took on the Soo Greyhounds. In the opening period, Carter Hicks scored his 2nd of the season at 8:23 to give the Spitfires a 1-0 lead. Later in the period, Ethan Belchetz scored his 7th of the season at 13:47 to counter a late Greyhounds goal to give Windsor a 2-1 lead. In the second period, Anthony Cristoforo would score twice on the powerplay for his first two goals of the campaign to give Windsor a 4-1 lead after forty minutes. There would be no scoring in the third period as Windsor had all 7 shots on goal in the period, and the Spitfires defeated the Greyhounds 4-1. Jack Nesbitt finished the game with no points, a +1 rating, 3 SOG, and was 14/19 on faceoffs.
