  • (Oct. 17) The Red Deer Rebels hosted the visiting Portland Winterhawks at the Marchant Crane Centrium.  Portland would score the only goal of the opening period to take a 1-0 lead even though the Rebels outshot the Winterhawks 14-13.  In the second period, the Rebels would get the tying goal with 9 seconds remaining as Landon MacSwain scored his 2nd of the season to tie the game 1-1.  In the third period, both goaltenders continued to keep their teams in it with Red Deer outshooting Portland 8-4.  But it was the Winterhawks that would score in the final 30 seconds of regulation and add an empty net goal as they defeated the Rebels 3-1.  Luke Vlooswyk finished the game with no points, an even rating, 1 SOG, and 2 PIMs.  Matthew Gard did not dress as he is in the midst of serving a two game suspension.
  • (Oct. 18) The Red Deer Rebels continued their homestand as they welcomed the visiting Spokane Chiefs.  The visitors had the better opening period and took a 1-0 lead into the intermission.  In the second period, Landon MacSwain would score for the second consecutive game (his 3rd of the season) at 4:57 to tie the game 1-1 with a powerplay goal.  The Chiefs would retake the lead later in the frame to take a 2-1 lead, and Sam Oremba would tally his second of the game while taking a shorthanded penalty shot to give Spokane a 3-1 lead.  Talon Brigley would score a powerplay goal for his 4th of the season at 19:38 but it was too late to mount any kind of comeback as the Red Deer Rebels dropped a 3-2 decision to the Spokane Chiefs.  Matthew Gard returned to the lineup after serving his suspension and finished with no points, an even rating, 1 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 15/28 on faceoffs.  Luke Vlooswyk ended up with no points, a -1 rating, and 0 SOG.
  • (Oct. 21) The Red Deer Rebels looked to break their two-game losing skid as they visited the Moose Jaw Warriors.  There was no scoring in the opening frame which saw the Rebels outshoot the Warriors 9-7.  In the second period, Red Deer took a 1-0 lead as Ty Coupland scored his 4th of the season only 2:21 in.  Moose Jaw would tie the game at 19:00 to make it 1-1 after forty minutes.  The third period was a high scoring affair as goals went back and forth between the teams.  Moose Jaw would score twice on the powerplay with Noah Milford scoring his 3rd of the season at 1:58 to make it 3-2 for the Warriors.  Matthew Gard would win a faceoff and be credited with a secondary assist as Keith McInnis would score his 2nd of the season to tie the game 3-3 at 6:57.  Moose Jaw took the lead at 9:52, but Arjun Bawa tied the game 4-4 and forced extra time.  After a scoreless overtime, victory would elude the Rebels for the third straight game as the Warriors scored three times in the shootout as Mosse Jaw took the 5-4 win.  Gard finished the game with 1 assist, a +1 rating, 2 SOG, and was 12 of 23 on draws.  Luke Vlooswyk ended up with no points, a +1 rating, 8 SOG, and 2 PIMs.

  • (Oct. 22) The Red Deer Rebels road trip in Saskatchewan continued as they visited the Swift Current Broncos.  In the first period, the Broncos scored the only goal to take a 1-0 lead but Ty Coupland scored his 5th of the season on a two-man advantage to tie things at 1-1 at 7:00 of the second period.  Once again, Swift Current would get to the intermission ahead as they took a 2-1 lead with a goal at 16:46.  In the third period, Jaxon Fuder (PP goal for his 2nd at 3:43) and Owen Shadrick (his 2nd at 8:15) put the Rebels up 3-2.  After the Broncos tied the game 3-3 at 13:59, extra time was needed to decide the game.  In overtime, Matthew Gard scored the winner with a wrist shot from the right circle his 4th of the season gave Red Deer a 4-3 win over Swift Current and snapped a three-game losing streak.  Gard finished the game with 1 goal, a -1 rating, 4 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 17 of 27 on faceoffs.  Luke Vlooswyk ended up with no points, a -1 rating, 2 SOG, and 2 PIMs.

  • (Oct. 24) The Red Deer Rebels returned home to take on the Regina Pats.  Regina struck first, but Red Deer would respond with Talon Brigley’s 5th at 8:25 and a Matthew Gard powerplay goal (his 5th at 19:57) to take a 2-1 lead.  Originally the goal was given to Brigley, but upon review it was deemed that Gard crashed the crease and got the final touch of the puck before it crossed the line.  In the second period, the Pats would tie the game but the Rebels would score a PP goal through Keith McInnis’ 3rd of the season at 13:51 to take a 3-2 lead.  In the final frame, Red Deer would hold on and get two empty net goals from Landon MacSwain and Beckett Hamilton to win their second in a row and defeating the Regina Pats 5-2.  Luke Vlooswyk finished the game with no points, a +1 rating, and 1 SOG.  Gard ended the game with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a +1 rating, 1 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 14/25 on draws.  Matthew Gard was named the Third Star of the game.

  • (Oct. 29) The Red Deer Rebels travelled to Calgary to take on the Hitmen.  Red Deer would be outshot 13-5 in the opening period and could consider themselves luck to only find themselves down 1-0 heading to the intermission.  The Hitmen would score the only goal of the second period as they took a 2-0 lead.  In the third period, Samuel Drancak’s 3rd of the season at 8:06 put the Rebels on the board but Calgary would re-establish their two-goal lead 3:01 later to make it 3-1.  Red Deer kept playing though and were rewarded with goals by Jaxon Fuder (his 3rd at 11:30) and Keith McInnis (his 4th at 19:25) to tie the game 3-3 and force overtime.  With no goals in the extra frame, the Hitman scored on all three shootout attempts as Calgary defeated Red Deer 4-3 in a shootout.  Matthew Gard finished the game with no points, an even rating, 1 SOG, and was 6/14 on faceoffs.  Luke Vlooswyk ended up with 1 assist, an even rating, and 0 SOG.

QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League)

2025-20262000+132
  • (Oct. 13) The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada hosted the Sherbrooke Phoenix in the Teddy Toss game without Spencer Gill.  This game finished regulation with all six goals coming at even strength to end in a 3-3 tie.  In overtime it was the Phoenix who would get the winner through Florent Houle as the Phoenix defeated the Armada 4-3.
  • (Oct. 17) Playing their first of three games in a row this weekend, the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada hosted the Drummondville Voltigeurs.  With Spencer Gill continuing to be out of the lineup due to injury, the Armada dominated the final frame by scoring 5 goals enroute to a convincing 8-2 victory over Drummondville.
  • (Oct. 18) Playing their second of three games in three nights, the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada hosted to Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.  All the scoring was done in the first two periods as the Huskies outshot and outscored the Armada to take a 3-1 lead.  The Armada would have a better third period but were not able to get back into the game and lost to the Huskies 3-1.  Spencer Gill continued to not dress due to injury.
  • (Oct. 19) The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada visited the Shawinigan Cataractes to finish off the last of their three games in three nights weekend.  The Armada were able to put the puck into the net early and often with a four-goal first period and it propelled them to an impressive 8-5 win over Shawinigan without Spencer Gill in the lineup once again.
  • (Oct. 24) The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada visited the Quebec Remparts.  The Remparts would take the 3-2 victory over the Armada but the big news concerned an injury update on Spencer Gill.  As reported by @cedrikblondin, Gill is expected to miss the next 12-15 weeks of action due to an upper-body injury.  At this time it is unclear if Gill will be undergoing surgery as some reports say that he will (@cedrikblondin) and others say there has been no decision yet on surgery or if rehab will be sufficient (@jackiespiegel93).

Nathan Quinn #29 (C) – Quebec Remparts (QMJHL)

  • (Oct. 13) The Quebec Remparts hit the road to take on the Gatineau Olympiques.  Gatineau would score the first three goals of the game (one in each period and all at even strength) to take a 3-0 lead in a game where the Olympiques held only a minor shots on goal advantage.  At 9:37 of the third period, the Remparts would get on the board thanks to Maddox Dagenais 3rd of the season to cut the deficit to 3-1.  That would be as close as the Remparts would get though as the Olympiques would add an empty net goal as Gatineau downed Quebec by a score of 4-1.  Nathan Quinn finished the game with no points, a -2 rating, 1 SOG, and was 9/18 on faceoffs.
  • (Oct. 17) Losers of three in a row, the Quebec Remparts visited the Chicoutimi Sagueneens looking to get back on track.  The Remparts had an awful opening period and were lucky to only be down 1-0 as they were only able to register two shots on goal.  In the second period, Quebec was outshot 10-6 to show a minor improvement but allowed an insurance goal as Chicoutimi took a 2-0 lead.  In the third period, the Sagueneens would ice the game with a powerplay goal at 15:16 and goaltender Raphael Precourt stopped all 19 shots he faced as the Sagueneens shutout the Remparts 3-0.  Nathan Quinn finished the game with no points, an even rating, 1 SOG, and was a woeful 4 of 15 on faceoffs.
  • (Oct. 18) The Quebec Remparts once again played the Chicoutimi Sagueneens only this time as the home team at the Centre Videotron during Hockey Fights Cancer Night.  Unfortunately, the Remparts woes would continue as they allowed the Sagueneens to jump out to a 4-0 lead in the opening period (two on the PP and two at even strength).  In the second period, Chicoutimi would add another two goals to lead 6-0 before Cal Uens scored his 3rd of the season at 18:11 to break the shutout.  Nathan Quinn registered a secondary assist on the play after narrowly missing being hit in the offensive zone to kickstart the play.  In the third period, Uens would score his second of the game on the powerplay at 3:33 but that would be as close as the Remparts would get as the Chicoutimi Sagueneens handed the Quebec Remparts their fifth straight loss by a score of 6-2.  Quinn finished the game with 2 assists, an even rating, 3 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 6/11 on draws.

  • (Oct. 24) Losers of five straight, the Quebec Remparts had a tough task ahead as they hosed the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.  Nathan Quinn was not dressed for the game.  In the opening period, the Remparts put a good foot forward and outshot the Armada 9-4 but the game was scoreless after twenty minutes.  In the second period, all of the scoring in the game alternated as the Remparts took a 3-2 lead.  Quebec was able to shut the door in the final frame and the Remparts snapped their losing streak by putting in a good performance and defeating a heavily favored Blainville-Boisbriand Armada team 3-2.
  • (Oct. 25) Looking to gain some momentum, the Quebec Remparts visited the Shawinigan Cataractes.  The Remparts peppered 17 shots on goal in the opening frame but found themselves down 1-0 at the break.  In the second period, Shawingan erupted for five goals including a shorthanded marker to take a commanding 6-0 lead after forty minutes.  In the third period, the Cataractes scored on the powerplay and goaltender Mathys Fernandez stopped all 37 shots he faced as Shawinigan shutout the Quebec Remparts 7-0.  Nathan Quinn finished the game with no points, a -1 rating, 3 SOG, and was 3/8 on faceoffs.
  • (Oct. 31) On a Halloween match, the Quebec Remparts were wondering if it was going to be a trick or a treat as they visited the Rimouski Oceanic.  The opening period was scoreless but the Remparts did outshoot the Oceanic 11-6.  In the second period, the Remparts would strike with goals by Mathias Loiselle (his 1st at 4:47) and Mavrick Rousseau-Hamel (his 3rd at 7:09) to take a 2-0 lead.  Nathan Quinn would score his 6th of the season on the PP at 13:23 followed by another powerplay goal by Cal Uens (his 5th at 19:55) to make it 4-0.  In the third period, Quinn would pass the puck to Maddox Dagenais for his 4th of the season at 4:37.  Rimouski would break the shutout at 14:06, but Charlie Morrison would score his 1st while shorthanded at 18:39 to give the Quebec Remparts a treat on Halloween with a 6-1 victory.  Quinn finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a +1 rating, 3 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 5 of 11 on faceoffs.

  • (Oct. 13) On Canadian Thanksgiving, the Windsor Spitfires travelled to Oshawa to take on the Generals.  In the opening period, 2026 NHL Draft prospect Ethan Belchetz scored his 8th of the season at 10:28 to give the Spitfires the lead.  Oshawa would tie the game later in the first period and score the only goal of the middle frame to take a 2-1 lead.  After the Generals scored a powerplay goal in the third period, Windsor would score two powerplay goals themselves courtesy of Jack Nesbitt (his 2nd at 9:47) and AJ Spellacy (his 1st at 11:10) to tie the game 3-3 and head to overtime.  In the extra period, Oshawa’s Harrison Franssen scored the winner as the Generals defeated the Spitfires 4-3.  Nesbitt finished the game with 1 goal, a +1 rating, 2 SOG, and was 14 of 21 on draws.
  • (Oct. 17) The Windsor Spitfires travelled to face the Sarnia Sting in the opening contest of a home and home set.  In the first period, the Sting took a 2-0 lead before Ethan Belchetz scored in his fourth straight game for his 9th goal of the season at 8:09.  There was no scoring in the second period, although Windsor did outshoot Sarnia 10-6.  In the third period, Windsor would score on the powerplay late at 18:45 through Anthony Cristoforo’s 3rd of the season to tie the game 2-2 and force overtime.  In the extra period, the Spitfires would take the two points as Cole Davis scored his 6th of the season and gave the Spitfies a 3-2 overtime victory over the Sting.  Jack Nesbitt finished the game with no points, an even rating, 3 SOG, and was 16/35 on faceoffs.
  • (Oct. 18) The combatants remained the same but with a switch of venue as the Windsor Spitfires hosted the Sarnia Sting.  Windsor came out swinging with a 12-1 shots advantage and took a 1-0 lead through Liam Greentree’s 4th of the season which was assisted by Jack Nesbitt.  The shots were 16-7 in favor of Windsor in the second period but it was Sarnia who scored three goals in the period to take a 3-1 lead.  In the third period, the Spitfires scored twice on the powerplay through Ethan Belchetz (his 10th at 2:34) and Nesbitt (his 3rd at 11:40) to tie the game 3-3.  Unfortunately the huge shots advantage in the game was for nought as the Sting scored late at 17:01 and added an empty-netter to take down the Spitfires 5-3.  Nesbitt finished the game with 1 goal and 2 assists for 3 points, a -1 rating, 9 SOG, and was 15 of 24 on faceoffs.  Nesbitt was named the Second Star of the game.
  • (Oct. 23) The Windsor Spitfires were back in action as they hosted the Ottawa 67s.  In the opening period, Windsor outshot Ottawa 10-4 and took a 1-0 lead through defenseman Carson Woodall’s 1st of the season at 16:11.  There would be no scoring in the second period although Windsor would outshoot Ottawa 8-5.  In the third period, the 1-0 scoreline held until the final second as Woodall scored his second goal of the game into an empty net at 19:59.  Goaltender Michael Newlove stopped all 18 shots he faced for the shutout as the Windsor Spitfires beat the Ottawa 67s 2-0.  Jack Nesbitt finished the game with no points, an even rating, 3 SOG, and was 15 of 25 on faceoffs.
  • (Oct. 24) The homestand for the Windsor Spitfires continued as they hosted the Owen Sound Attack.  The Spitfires struck first with a powerplay goal by Beksultan Makysh for his 7th of the season at 7:51, but the Attack would tie the game 1-1 just minutes later.  In the second period, Jack Nesbitt would one-time a feed from the right circle for his 4th of the season at 4:07, but once again Owen Sound would tie the game 2-2 heading into the intermission.  In the third period, it was Windsor’s turn to come from behind as the Attack took a 3-2 lead but Cole Davis’ 7th of the season on the powerplay at 16:21 tied the game at 3-3 to force extra time.  After overtime solved nothing, Davis scored the only goal of the shootout as the Spitfires took down the Attack 4-3.  Nesbitt finished the game with 1 goal, an even rating, 6 SOG, and was only 9 of 28 on faceoffs.

  • (Oct. 26) The Windsor Spitfires hosted the Saginaw Spirit.  In the opening period, the Spitfires took a 2-1 lead with goals by the red hot Cole Davis (his 8th at 4:57) and Liam Greentree (his 5th at 15:02).  The script remained the same in the second period although Windsor was outshot 11-5 but still managed to two goals from Ethan Belchetz (his 11th and 12th of the season) as the Spitfires took a 4-2 advantage after forty minutes.  In the third period, the Spirit would cut the lead to 4-3 but Liam Greentree would score his second of the game to restore the Spitfire’s two-goal advantage.  Saginaw would not quit though and scored 12 seconds later and eventually tied the game at 18:19 to tie the game 5-5 and force overtime.  With overtime solving nothing, the Spirit would score twice in the shootout to negate a Greentree goal as Saginaw would defeat Windsor 6-5.  Jack Nesbitt finished the game with no points, a +1 rating, 3 SOG, and was 12 of 17 on faceoffs.
