Welcome to the 8th edition of The Flyers Junior Hockey Prospect Report for the 2025-2026 season!

This edition for the 2025-2026 season covers the covers the Flyers CHL prospects in the WHL, QMJHL, and OHL from Saturday January 31st – Friday February 14th.

WHL (Western Hockey League) 

Luke Vlooswyk #5 (D) – Everett Silvertips (WHL)

  • (Jan. 31) The Everett Silvertips visited the Seattle Thunderbirds in a rivalry game.  The opening two periods went the way of the Silvertips as they outshot the Thunderbirds 24-11 and found themselves up 3-0 thanks to two powerplay goals from Carter Bear (his 19th and 20th) to go along with an assist.  In the third period, Everett would score another powerplay goal only 24 seconds in by Rylan Gould (his 15th) to give the Silvertips a 4-0 lead.  Seattle would get on the board 19 seconds later, but Everett’s Kayd Ruedig would ice the game with his 13th of the season at 3:23 to give Everett a 5-1 victory over Seattle.  Luke Vlooswyk finished the game with no points, an even rating, and 2 SOG.
  • (Feb. 1) The Everett Silvertips returned home as they took on the Tri-City Americans.  In the opening period, Everett would get two assists by Carter Bear and the Silvertips outshot the Americans 16-7 and took a 3-0 lead.  In the second period, Tri-City would get on the board but the Silvertips would strike twice with Zackary Shantz registering two assists to take a 5-1 lead.  In the third, Connor Dale would score twice for the Americans to make it interesting but Everett’s Jesse Hislop would add an insurance goal in the final minute to give the Silvertips a 6-3 victory.  Luke Vlooswyk finished the game with no points, an even rating, and 1 SOG.
  • (Feb. 6) The Everett Silvertips continued their homestand as they played the visiting Kamloops Blazers.  In the opening period, the Blazers would score goals 20 seconds apart to take an early lead but Henri Ament’s 2nd of the season would get the Silvertips back in it at 2-1.  In the second period, both teams would strike on the powerplay as Everett continued to lead Kamloops 3-2 after forty minutes.  In the third period, Carter Bear took over to continue his recent string of dominant performances as he scored twice in the frame (including an empty-netter) to complete the hat-trick as the Silvertips defeated the Blazers 6-3.  Luke Vlooswyk finished the game with no points, an even rating, ad 2 SOG.
  • (Feb. 7) The homestand continued for the Everett Silvertips as they faced the visiting Victoria Royals.  Everett would dominate the opening period as they outshot Victoria 15-2 but could not get on the board as the game remained scoreless.  In the second period, the Silvertips would waste no time as Jaxsin Vaughan scored his 16th only 10 seconds in to give Everett a 1-0 lead.  Luke Vlooswyk would get an assist on Henri Ament’s 3rd of the season at 7:30 to give the Silvertips a 2-0 lead.  In the third period, Victoria would tie the game 2-2 with two powerplay goals but Landon DuPont’s 12th on the powerplay would end up being the game-winner as the Silvertips defeated the Royals 4-2.  Vlooswyk finished the game with 1 assist, a +2 rating, 4 SOG, and 2 PIMs.  Vlooswyk was named the Third Star of the game.
  • (Feb. 10) The Everett Silvertips hit the road as they visited Alberta to take o the Red Deer Rebels.  In the opening period, Matias Vanhanen of the Silvertips and Cameron Kuzma of the Rebels each had a goal and an assist as the game would be tied 2-2.  In the second period, Red Deer took the 3-2 lead but Everett score three goals with Carter Bear scoring a goal and an assist as the Silvertips would take a 5-3 lead.  In the third period, Julius Miettinen would add an empty net goal as the Silvertips defeated the Rebels 6-3.  Luke Vlooswyk finished the game with no points, a +1 rating, and 1 SOG.
  • (Feb. 11) The road trip continued for the Everett Silvertips as they visited the Edmonton Oil Kings.  In the opening period, Matias Vanhanen would score his 15th of the season off the opening faceoff only 8 seconds in and Rylan Gould would add his 17th at 17:06 to give the Silvertips a 2-0 lead.  In the second period, Zackary Shantz would score his 21st of the season on the powerplay to extend the Silvertips lead to 3-0.  In the third, Jaxsin Vaughan potted his 18th at 2:05 and Anders Miller stopped all 18 shots he faced as the Everett Silvertips shutout the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-0.  Luke Vlooswyk finished the game with no points, an even rating, and 2 SOG.
  • (Feb. 13) The road trip in Alberta continued as the Everett Silvertips visited the Lethbridge Hurricanes.  In the opening period, the Silvertips were led by Zackary Shantz with 1 goal and 2 assists as the Silvertips dominated the shots 18-8 and led by a score of 4-1.  The dominance continued in the second period as Everett outshot Lethbridge 24-4 although the Hurricanes would score three goals in the period.  Landon DuPont (his 14th), Jesse Heslop (his 13th), Carter Bear (his 25th), and Hunter Rudolph (his 3rd) all scored for Everett in a dominating 8-4 win over Lethbridge.  Luke Vlooswyk finished the game with no points, a -1 rating, 4 SOG, and 2 PIMs.
  • (Feb. 14) The Everett Silvertips spent their Valentine’s Day by visiting the Medicine Hat Tigers.  Landon DuPont opened the scoring with his 15th of the season followed up by two goals by Carter Bear (his 26th and 27th), but the Tigers would score while shorthanded and on the powerplay to only make the Silvertips lead 3-2.  Medicine Hat would tie the game in the final minute of the second period and no further scoring in regulation would mean that the game headed to overtime deadlocked 3-3.  In the extra period, the red hot Zackary Shantz scored the game-winner for his 23rd of the season as the Silvertips defeated the Tigers 4-3.  Luke Vlooswyk finished the game with no points, an even rating, and 2 SOG.

Matthew Gard #7 (C) – Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL)

  • (Jan. 31) The Seattle Thunderbirds hosted the Everett Silvertips in a battle of state and division rivals.  Seattle was on the back foot for most of the opening two periods as the Silvertips struck twice on the powerplay to take a 3-0 lead.  After the deficit increased to 4-0 only 24 seconds into the third, Matthew Gard replied with a sneaky wrister only 19 seconds later for his 12th of the season to break the shutout and get Seattle on the board at 4-1.  It was not to be though as Everett would add an insurance goal less than two minutes later as the Seattle Thunderbirds got humbled 5-1 by the Everett Silvertips.  Gard  finished the game with 1 goal, an even rating, 3 SOG, and was 8/18 on draws.  Gard was named the Second Star of the game.

  • (Feb. 1) The Seattle Thunderbirds took on the visiting Penticton Vees.  In the opening period, Seattle started poorly as they were outshot 12-8 but found themselves down 4-0 with Diego Johnson scoring twice.  In the second period, the Thunderbirds cut the deficit in half with goals by Cameron Schmidt (his 34th at 14:18) and Antonio Martorana (his 19th at 16:16) to make it a 4-2 game.  In the third period, Seattle would outshoot Penticton 16-7 and were rewarded with goals at the 36 second mark and at 17:48 to tie the game 4-4 and force overtime.  With no winner decided, the shootout would go the way of the Vees as the Thunderbirds could not convert on their three attempts as Penticton defeated Seattle 5-4.  Matthew Gard finished the game with 1 assist, an even rating, 2 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 11 of 24 on faceoffs.

  • (Feb. 6) Continuing on at home, the Seattle Thunderbirds took on the visiting Portland Winterhawks.  In the first period, Portland would outshoot Seattle 10-8 and found themselves up 2-0 by 8:03.  The second period was a wild affair with a combined seven goals scored by both teams.  Matej Pekar would score his 17th of the season at 8:09 to get Seattle on the board at 2-1, but the Winterhawks would score three goals in the 1:01 after the goal to take a 5-1 lead.  Seattle would claw the game back to 5-3 with goals by Ethan Bibeau (his 4th at 11:37) and Marcus Laraque (his 3rd at 15:37 assisted by Matthew Gard).  But a shorthanded goal by Portland at 17:48 by Ryan Miller would take any momentum away and make it a 6-3 hole.  In the third period, Portland would put the game to bed by adding an insurance goal as the Winterhawks defeated the Thunderbirds 7-3.  Gard finished the game with 1 assist, a -1 rating, 2 SOG, 4 PIMs, and was 11/21 on draws.
  • (Feb. 7) The Portland Winterhawks were the hosts this time as the Seattle Thunderbirds were the visitors for the return match of the home and home set.  In the first period, Seattle got the ball rolling with Matthew Gard ultimately getting credit for his 13th of the season only 1:30 in to make it 1-0.  In the second period, it was Portland’s turn to score early as they tied the game 26 seconds in before Brock England restored the Thunderbirds lead to 2-1 with his 18th of the season.  In the third period, Ryan Miller would tie the game up for Portland to force overtime and in the extra period it was the Winterhawks who would win the game 3-2 with Alex Wieirmair scoring his 27th of the season.  Gard finished the game with 1 goal, an even rating, 1 SOG, and was 8 of 18 at the faceoff dot.
  • (Feb. 10) The Seattle Thunderbirds visited the Spokane Chiefs.  The first period was a scoreless affair as both sides were able to get 8 shots on goal.  In the second period, Spokane took the lead with a powerplay goal as Tyus Sparks scored his 23rd of the season at 5:28.  In the third period, Cameron Schmidt scored his 35th of the season only 33 seconds in to tie the game 1-1.  Brock England scored on the powerplay for his 19th of the season at 9:31 to give the Thunderbirds a 2-1 lead.  Schmidt would score his second of the game (and third point) into an empty net as the Seattle Thunderbirds defeated the Spokane Chiefs 3-1.  Matthew Gard finished the game with no points, a +1 rating, 2 SOG, and was 7/19 on draws.
  • (Feb. 13) The Seattle Thunderbirds hosted the Tri-City Americans in the first game of a home and home set on consecutive days.  In the first period, Seattle dominated the shots 17-7 but only found themselves up 1-0 thanks to Antonio Martorana’s 20th of the season.  In the second period, the Thunderbirds would double their advantage only 17 seconds in off the opening faceoff as Cameron Schmidt scored his 37th of the season to make it 2-0.  Tri-City would get the goal right back in short order, but Schmidt would score his second of the game on the powerplay to give the Thunderbirds a 3-1 advantage after forty minutes.  In the third period, Martorana would score his second of the contest as Seattle would beat Tri-City 4-1.  Matthew Gard finished the game with 1 assist, a +1 rating, 0 SOG, and was 7 of 19 on faceoffs.
  • (Feb. 14) On Valentine’s Day, the Tri-City Americans were the hosts in the second half of the back-to-back as they welcomed the Seattle Thunderbirds.  The shots were 13-3 for the Thunderbirds in the opening period but the period would end 1-1 after Tri-City opened the scoring and Antonio Martonara scored while shorthanded to even things up.  In the second period, Seattle’s Matej Pekar would score his 18th only 27 seconds in to give Seattle the 2-1 lead.  Goaltender Marek Sklenicka would be solid the rest of the was as he would not allow the Americans to tie the game as the Seattle Thunderbirds swept the home and home with a 2-1 victory.  Matthew Gard finished the game with no points, a +1 rating, 3 SOG, and was 10/20 on draws.      

QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League)

Spencer Gill #15 (D) – Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (QMJHL)

  • (Feb. 13) Spencer Gill did indeed make his return to action for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada as they visited the Val-d’Or Foreurs as reported by PHLY’s Charlie O’Connor.  The Armada took a 3-0 lead in the opening period and didn’t look back as they outshot the Foreurs 37-22 in the game.  Bill Zonnon would lead the way with 2 goals and 1 assist and goaltender William Lacelle would stop all 22 shots he faced in the game as Blainville-Boisbriand shutout Val-d’Or 6-0.  Gill finished the game with no points, a +1 rating, 2 SOG, and 2 PIMs in his return to action.
  • (Feb. 14) The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada continued their road trip as they visited the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.  Although the Armada would outshoot the Huskies 36-22, the Huskies got a hat-trick from Eliot Ogonowski and a brilliant performance from goaltender Samuel Meloche as the Huskies shutout the Armada 5-0.  Spencer Gill finished the game with no points, a -1 rating, and 4 SOG.

Nathan Quinn #29 (C) – Quebec Remparts (QMJHL)

  • (Feb. 6) The Quebec Remparts began the month of February at home as they took on the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.  Quebec would open the scoring at 3:33 with Maddox Dagenais’ 22nd of the season.  In the second period, the Remparts would double their advantage to 2-0 as Freddy Meyer scored his 2nd of the season on the powerplay at 11:03.  The Huskies would get a goal late, but in the third period the Remparts would put the game away with a powerplay goal by Antoine Dorion as Quebec defeated Rouyn-Norada 3-1.  Nathan Quinn finished the game with 1 assist, a +1 rating, 2 SOG, and was 4 of 10 on faceoffs.

  • (Feb. 7) The Quebec Remparts hosted the Rimouski Oceanic.  The Remparts came out in the opening period and outshot Rimouski 17-1 but could only take a 1-0 lead through Nikita Ovcharov’s powerplay goal (his 14th) at 6:42.  In the second period both sides would alternate with two goals apiece as Nathan Quinn scored his 26th of the season at 19:55 o a gorgeous between the legs goal to give Quebec a 3-2 lead after forty minutes.  In the third period, Quinn would score his second of the game by going roof for his 27th at 4:53 to make it 4-2.  The Oceanic would pull to within one but the Remparts would add an empty-netter as Quebec defeated Rimouski 5-3.  Quinn finished the game with 2 goals, a +3 rating, 3 SOG, and was 4/10 on draws.  Quinn was named the First Star of the game.

  • (Feb. 13) For the second straight game, the Rimouski Oceanic were the opponents as they hosted the Quebec Remparts.  At 3:07, Nathan Quinn would win the faceoff back to Maddox Dagenais who blasted home his 23rd to make it 1-0.  After the Oceanic equalized, Xavier Lebel would score his 11th at 16:50 to give Quebec a 2-1 lead.  In the second period, the Remparts would score five consecutive goals including Quinn’s 28th of the season at 3:49 as the Remparts blew the game open to lead 7-2.  Rimouski would score a pair in the third period but Cal Uens’ 12th of the season at 12:06 finished off an impressive 8-3 win by the Remparts over the Oceanic.  Quinn finished the game with 1 goal ad 2 assists for 3 points, a +1 rating, 3 SOG, and was only 2 of 13 on draws.  Quinn was named the First Star of the game for the second consecutive game.

OHL (Ontario Hockey League)

Jack Nesbitt #71 (C) – Windsor Spitfires (OHL)

  • (Feb. 1) The Windsor Spitfires opened up the month of February by hosting the Sarnia Sting.  Jack Nesbitt did not play for the third consecutive game due to illness.  Windsor would stifle the Sarnia offence in this game as the Sting would only be able to muster 11 shots on goal in the entire game.  The Spitfires would score the first four goals of the game through four different goal scorers as Windsor opened up a 4-0 lead.  Sarnia would spoil the shutout bid early in the third period, but the Spitfires dominated this game and cruised to a 4-1 victory.
  • (Feb. 5) Jack Nesbitt returned to the lineup as the Windsor Spitfires visited the North Bay Battalion.  In the opening period, Nesbitt would take the first penalty of the night but goals by Ethan Belchetz (his 30th) and AJ Spellacy (his 11th) would give Windsor a 2-0 lead.  In the second period, the Battalion would battle back to tie the game with a powerplay goal ad a shorthanded marker but Cole Davis restored the Spitfires lead with his 15th of the season to make it 3-2.  Nesbitt would score his 13th in alone off a nice feed from Belchetz to make it 4-2 at 3:51.  But North Bay would not go away as they scored twice to tie the game and scored the only goal of the shootout to hand the Spitfires a 5-4 loss.  Nesbitt finished the game with 1 goal, a +2 rating, 2 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 14 of 21 on faceoffs.

  • (Feb. 6) The Windsor Spitfires continued to travel in Northern Ontario as they visited the Sudbury Wolves.  After a scoreless opening period, Liam Greentree’s 24th of the season on the powerplay would be his 300th OHL point followed by Alex Pharand’s 13th of the season would give Windsor a 2-0 lead.  The Wolves would get on the board in the final minute though to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the third period, Anthony Cristoforo would score his 17th on the powerplay to extend the lead to 3-1 before Sudbury would cut the deficit once again to 3-2.  Jack Nesbitt scored for the second straight game as his 14th of the season along with Carson Woodall’s 10th gave Windsor a 5-2 win over Sudbury and extended the Spitfires winning streak to five.  Nesbitt finished the game with 1 goal, a -1 rating, 5 SOG, and was 6/12 on draws.
  • (Feb. 8) The road trip continued for the Windsor Spitfires as they visited the Soo Greyhounds.  The first half of the game had the Soo take a 3-0 lead which included a shorthanded marker.  Windsor would score two goals in a 4:01 span through Cole Davis (his 16th) and Ethan Garden (his 12th) to cut the deficit to 3-2, but the Greyhounds would add a pair including an empty-netter in the third period to end the Spitfires winning streak at five as Windsor lost the game 5-2.  Jack Nesbitt finished the game with no points, a -3 rating, 3 SOG, and was 10 of 24 at the faceoff dot.
  • (Feb. 12) The Windsor Spitfires returned home as they took on the Sarnia Sting.  Despite the edge I shots, Windsor would allow two shorthanded goals in the opening frame but would get on the board through Cole Davis’ 17th of the season to make it 2-1.  In the second period, Jack Nesbitt would get a goal (his 15th) and get an assist on what looked like an inadvertent pass to help Windsor go up 4-2.  In the third period, both Ethan Belchetz (his 32nd) and Ethan Garden (his 13th) would score in the opening minutes and the Spitfires returned to their winning ways with a 6-4 win over the Sarnia Sting.  Nesbitt finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a +1 rating, 4 SOG, and was 7 of 13 on faceoffs.  Nesbitt was named the Second Star of the game.

  • (Feb. 14) On Valentine’s Day the Windsor Spitfires travelled to face the Saginaw Spirit.  Andrew Robinson opened the scoring to give Windsor a 1-0 lead with his 4th of the season.  In the second period, Liam Greentree (his 25th) and John McLaughlin (his 7th) scored for Windsor but the Spirit would get on the board with a powerplay goal to make it 3-1.  Jack Nesbitt would score his 16th of the season on a penalty shot at 12:01 to extend the Spitfires advantage to 4-1.  Saginaw would add a late marker but Windsor would take the game by a score of 4-2.  Nesbitt finished the game with 1 goal, an even rating, 2 SOG, and was 10/18 on faceoffs.

Jett Luchanko #17 (C) – Brantford Bulldogs (OHL)

  • (Feb. 1) The Brantford Bulldogs opened the month of February with a home date against the Soo Greyhounds.  In the opening period, Adam Benak scored his 22nd on the powerplay to give the Bulldogs the lead but were outshot 9-6 and the Greyhounds were able to tie the game 1-1.  After a scoreless second period, Charlie Paquette would give Brantford the 2-1 lead with his 24th of the season at 9:00 but the Greyhounds would tie the game back up 2-2 moments later.  With no scoring in overtime, Adam Benak would score the only goal of the shootout as the Bulldogs defeated the Greyhounds 3-2.  Jett Luchanko finished the game with no points, a -1 rating, 0 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 10/13 at the faceoff dot.
  • (Feb. 4) Continuing at home, the Brantford Bulldogs hosted the visiting Kingston Frontenacs.  Kingston outshot Brantford 13-7 but it was Gabriel Frasca whose 19th of the season at 8:29 gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.  The second period was scoreless with Brantford controlling the game more but in the third period the Frontenacs would tie the game 1-1 just prior to the midway point.  Overtime could not decide a winner, and in the shootout Kingston would score on both of their attempts as the Frontenacs defeated the Bulldogs 2-1.  Jett Luchanko finished the game with no points, an even rating, 3 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 11/17 on draws.
  • (Feb. 7) The Brantford Bulldogs home stand continued as they took on the visiting Ottawa 67s.  In the opening period, Brantford would take the 1-0 lead as Adam Benak scored his 23rd of the season on the powerplay at 8:09.  Ottawa would strike back with a powerplay goal of their own as well as one at even strength to take a 2-1 lead.  While the Bulldogs would outshoot the 67s 11-3 in the third period, Ottawa was the better team in the second period and Nic Sima scored twice over the last forty minutes as the 67s defeated the Bulldogs 5-1.  Jett Luchanko finished the game with no points, a -1 rating, 3 SOG, 2 PIMs, and was 10 of 16 on faceoffs.
  • (Feb. 8) The Brantford Bulldogs visited the Slush Puppy Place to take on the Kingston Frontenacs.  The Bulldogs would open the scoring at 12:53 through Camron Hankai’s 2nd of the season.  The Frontenacs would tie the game 1-1 in the middle frame, but Cooper Dennis (his 26th) and Jake O’Brien (his 19th) would give Brantford a 3-1 lead.  Kingston would pull it to 3-2 with a powerplay goal in the third, but Charlie Paquette’s 25th and an empty net goal by Jett Luchanko would ensure the Bulldogs came away with a 5-2 victory.  Luchanko finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, a +2 rating, 4 SOG, and was 3 of 5 on draws.  Luchanko played RW in this contest.

  • (Feb. 13) The Brantford Bulldogs returned home to take on the Erie Otters.  In the opening period, the lone goal would be scored by Erie only 2:50 in.  The second and third periods were dominated by the Bulldogs with an identical 16-7 shot total in each period.  Jett Luchanko would assist on both goals by Marek Vanacker (his 36th and 37th) as Brantford scored 5 goals in the last two periods to defeat the Otters 5-1.  Luchanko finished the game with 2 assists, a +1 rating, 3 SOG, and was 3 of 7 on faceoffs.
  • (Feb. 14) On Valentine’s Day, Jett Luchanko was looking to exchange cards with his former team as the Brantford Bulldogs hosted the Guelph Storm.  The Storm led the Bulldogs 11-7 in shots during the opening period but neither side could find the back of the net.  Guelph would open the scoring in the second period, but Jett Luchanko would tuck in a rebound in front for his 7th of the season at 8:50.  With the Bulldogs on a powerplay in the third period, Caleb Malhotra would pot his 25th followed by Gabriel Frasca’s 21st two minutes later to give the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead.  Brantford would add an empty net goal to cancel out a late Guelph tally as the Bulldogs took down the Storm 4-2.  Luchanko finished the game with 1 goal and 2 assists for 3 points, a +2 rating, 5 SOG, and was 5 of 10 on faceoffs.  Luchanko was named the First Star of the game.
