  • (Mar. 5) The Brantford Bulldogs visited the Sadlon Arena I Barrie to take on the Colts.  In the first period, the Bulldogs dominated the shots 16-8 and went up 2-0 with goals by Adam Jiricek (his 16th at 15:05) and Cooper Dennis (his 31st at 15:59).  In the second period the Colts stormed back to take a 3-2 lead, but Jiricek’s second of the game at 16:57 followed by Adam Benak’s 24th at 18:08 restored Brantford’s 4-3 lead.  In the final frame, Dennis scored his second of the game into an empty net as the Bulldogs defeated the Colts 5-3.  Jett Luchanko did not dress for the game.
  • (Mar. 6) Jett Luchanko missed his second straight game as the Brantford Bulldogs hosted the Saginaw Spirit.  Adam Benak opened the scoring with only 12 seconds left in the opening twenty with his 25th of the season to put the Bulldogs up 1-0.  In the second period, Saginaw would tie the game at 4:47 but Marek Vanacker would restore Brantford’s 2-1 lead with his 43rd of the season at 8:26.  The third period was all Bulldogs as they outshot the Spirit 12-5 and got goals by Caleb Malhotra (his 27th), Benak’s second of the game, and an empty net goal by Luca Testa to give Brantford a 5-1 win over Saginaw.
  • (Mar. 8) Jett Luchanko continues to be out with a suspected injury as the Brantford Bulldogs hosted the Niagara IceDogs.  Niagara was the better of the two teams in the opening period, but Zackary Sandhu’s 3rd of the season ensured that the game was tied 1-1 after twenty minutes.  In the second period, Charlie Paquette scored his 28th of the season to go along with two assists as Brantford had four different goal-scorers on the way to taking a 5-3 lead.  In the third period, the IceDogs would pull to within one but Ben Danford scored his 3rd into an empty net as the Bulldogs defeated the IceDogs 6-4.
  • (Mar. 12) The Battalion were the opponents as the Brantford Bulldogs visited North Bay.  In the opening period, Caleb Malhotra scored his 29th of the season on the powerplay and added an assist on Cooper Dennis’ 33rd to give Brantford a 2-0 lead.  In the second period, North Bay controlled the majority of play and were able to chip away at the Bulldogs lead by cutting the score to 2-1 with about three minutes left in the period.  In the third period, the Battalion would tie the game up 2-2 and regulation expired without another goal being scored.  In overtime, North Bay completed the comeback as Kent Greer was the hero by scoring his 10th of the season and securing a 3-2 victory for the Battalion over the Bulldogs.  Jett Luchanko continued to not dress.
  • (Mar. 13) The Brantford Bulldogs continued their road trip to Northern Ontario as they visited the Sudbury Wolves.  After a scoreless opening period, the Bulldogs erupted for three goals on only six shots with goals by Luca Testa (his 15th at 9:37), Marek Vanacker (his 44th at 18:26), and Charlie Paquette (his 29th at 19:25).  In the third period, Nikolas Rossetto added an insurance goal for his 6th of the season and David Egorov stopped all 26 shots he faced as Brantford shutout Sudbury 4-0.  Jett Luchanko did not dress once again likely due to injury.
  • (Mar. 15) The Brantford Bulldogs visited the Soo Greyhounds without Jett Luchanko.  A similar script was followed from the previous game at North Bay as both teams were scoreless in the opening period and Brantford opened the scoring in the second with Jake O’Brien’s 25th of the season at 12:01.  In the third period, Gabriel Frasca scored his 24th on the powerplay to go along with a Cooper Dennis empty-netter and David Egorov posting his second consecutive shutout (41 saves) in a 3-0 shutout win by the Bulldogs over the Greyhounds.
  • (Mar. 18) As per Bill Meltzer, Jett Luchanko is week-to-week with an upper body injury that will likely keep him out of action for the rest of the regular season but should allow him to return for the playoffs.  Brantford returned home as they took on the Niagara IceDogs.  Brantford got big games from Jake O’Brien (1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points) and Marek Vanacker (2 goals and 1 assist) in a 5-2 win over Niagara that clinched the East Division and the first seed in the Eastern Conference.
  • (Mar. 20) The Brandford Bulldogs finished their home schedule as they took on the North Bay Battalion.  Jake O’Brien scored two powerplay goals (his 27th and 28th) to go along with 2 assists for a 4 point night as the Bulldogs pulled out a 6-5 victory over the Battalion in what turned out to be a high scoring affair.  Jett Luchanko continued to miss time with an upper body injury and did not play.
  • (Mar. 22) The Brantford Bulldogs closed out their regular season as they visited the Brampton Steelheads.  It must be said that Brantford did scratch quite a few regulars (including Jett Luchanko) and opted for a very young lineup with a few players making their OHL debuts.  Brampton would be fully deserving of a 4-0 lead through two periods of play even though the shots were 21-21.  In the third period, Vladimir Dravecky would score his 9th of the season to get the Bulldogs on the board; but Matej Stankoven’s between the legs breakaway goal put the exclamation point on an impressive 6-1 win for Brampton over Brantford,

*** The Brandford Bulldogs begin the OHL Playoffs on Friday March 27th as heavy favorites as they host the Sudbury Wolves.
