The 2024 class features two key players, one surprise riser, and a few depth guys with various statuses in the eye of John Tortorella. Keep or Trade: Scott Laughton
The Flyers drafted Scott Laughton 20th overall in 2012, and after years of marinating in the AHL with limited NHL ice time, he became a full-time roster member in 2017-18 and has been a highly respected depth forward ever since. His 30th birthday comes around in May of 2024 and he's got an additional two … Continue reading Keep or Trade: Scott Laughton
Comparing the 2023-24 Flyers to the 2017-18 Flyers
May 7, 2024 will be the 10th anniversary of the Flyers naming Ron Hextall as their general manager. He was tasked with rebuilding the team after the Paul Holmgren era went off the tracks. Samuel Ersson Finding His Confidence Again, Possessing “The Right Type of Arrogance”
Sam Ersson's lacklustre performance in goal is not (fully) his fault, even though he does not look good on paper. Granted, he had not played in nearly twenty days prior to his season debut in Texas. Going long stints of not getting games in, with Carter Hart taking over priority. However, John Tortorella has confidence in Ersson, ie: starting on Saturday against Pittsburgh, in a non-back-to-back situation. His play has distractedly improved but at the beginning of the season, things were scarce.

29-year-old right-handed defenseman Sean Walker, who the Flyers acquired over the offseason as part of the three-team Ivan Provorov trade, has been a surprising positive during the start of the season. He's a pending unrestricted free agent, and with the Flyers in a supposed rebuild, he could be a hot commodity at the trade deadline. … Continue reading Keep or Trade: Sean Walker

Sean Walker and Rasmus Ristolainen may be two great additions to an original six club in a blockbuster trade even before the NHL Trade Deadline.
Report: Danny Briere ‘Eager’ To Make Moves To Build Foundation For The Future
General manager Danny Briere is more than willing to take action to set the foundation for the Flyers future, according to TSN Insider Darren Dreger. The Flyers continue to "listen on basically every position — not every player, but every position.”
